Meet BLR Boys: The collective redefining brotherhood through music

0
BLR Boys

In a creative world often fueled by individualism and competition, BLR Boys are shifting the narrative with a formula rooted in unity, intention, and shared vision.

As the face of the larger BLR collective, this four-man powerhouse is less about ego and more about energy, the kind that multiplies when artists move as one.

Made up of Chief Kellz, Flocka BLR, A-Clipse, and PsykoWorldWide, the group blends raw storytelling with genre-warping production, pushing sonic boundaries while staying grounded in real-life experience.

Each member brings something distinct to the table, yet they move with one pulse, strengthening brotherhood that shows up in every verse, every visual, every moment.
Their latest single, ‘Settings,’ is a mission statement disguised as a track.

It’s gritty and unfiltered, a record that fuses their street-level roots with bold ambition. The synergy is unmistakable.

BLR Boys build worlds, from immersive visuals to soundscapes that bend genre expectations. Their work invites listeners into a space where art is a collective experience, not a solo act. You don’t just hear their music. You live in it.

Don Little

Actor Don Little has opened up about his personal struggles, revealing that despite achieving financial success, he continues to battle loneliness.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Kumawood star disclosed that he has built a 10-bedroom mansion and acquired several properties, yet he remains without a life partner. He described the emotional toll of living alone in such a large house.

“This world isn’t fair, when you’re poor, it’s a problem, and when you’re rich, it’s also a problem. I toiled to build this house, but now I sleep alone in it. Out of the 10 bedrooms, I only use one. I need a woman to live with, but I can’t find anyone. I’ve been searching for a while now. My house feels like a cemetery.”

Don Little did not shy away from asking for help publicly, inviting women who may be interested to reach out.

“If you’re interested, leave a comment. I need a woman to be with. Because in this world, if you don’t have money, it’s a problem. But if you do have money, you don’t know who to spend it with,” he added.

The actor’s heartfelt remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathising with his plight and others urging him to remain hopeful.

I’ve written songs for artistes who never compensated me –Kuami Eugene

Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian musician, Kuami Eugene has revealed that he rarely gets the credit he deserves, even though he has written many songs for other musicians.

In an interview on 3FM interview, the “Belinda” hitmaker lamented instances in which he assumed recognition would come naturally, only to be sidelined once the songs gained popularity

“Some songs that I wrote that we thought, you know what, they’ll do the needful later and it was in my face afterwards. Like so many songs that if I say I’ll make mention of, you would be like, okay, so they didn’t give you a cut for this. And if I have to take all of them on, it would look like he’s the bad one,” he said.

Kuami Eugene emphasised that while at first, he ignored a lot of these cases, he has since decided to address the matter by taking legal action against artistes who fail to do the right thing, naming Mr. Drew as one of them.

“Some of them, I took them on. Like Mr. Drew, I took him on and some of them, I figured, you know, just let it go. So, with all these ones or twos, I have, okay, now it’s no more fun game with all of us. Let’s work. If you look at this, of course, this is the hook. What is my cut? Put it here, put it here, my lawyer will give you a call,” he stated.

Kuami Eugene, went on to express optimism about how the new crop of artistes appreciates the music business ethics and professionalism.

“So, I love the fact that this new generation of, I mean, new artistes understand this thing to the brim,” he added.

Wales team bus involved in crash on way to training

Rhian Wilkinson, female team coach

Wales’ Euro 2025 team bus has been involved in a crash on the way to their training session at Arena St Gallen before their match against France.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) says all players and staff who were on the bus were uninjured, though an ambulance was at the scene attending to the driver of another vehicle who was taken to hospital.

The Wales training session scheduled to be held at the stadium on Tuesday has been cancelled as a result of the crash, though head coach Rhian Wilkinson’s squad trained later in the day at their team base in Weinfelden, around 30 minutes from St Gallen.

Wilkinson and captain Angharad James were not on the bus as they travelled separately in order to attend Wales’ news conference prior to Wednesday’s Group D game.

“Everyone is OK,” Wilkinson said at the news conference.

“Our priority is to get them all together and away from the scene. We’ll be checking in to make sure they all continue to be OK.

“This is really developing right now so we are trying to be as clear and transparent as possible.

“I think everyone, from all reports, is ok and we just need to get them all together and get everyone away from the scene to reassess.

“More importantly I think the driver of the other vehicle is OK as well. We will let everyone know once we know for sure.”

The FAW added that the players had returned to “the Cymru training base to complete their preparations for tomorrow’s match”.

In a statement, the Swiss police confirmed one person was taken to hospital after the crash.

Anthony Elanga

Newcastle United have agreed a £55m fee with Nottingham Forest for Sweden winger Anthony Elanga.

Sources have told BBC Sport the deal could be completed this week.

Newcastle are seeking to strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for their return to the Champions League following a fifth-place Premier League finish last season.

The 23-year-old scored six goals and produced 11 assists for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side during their successful 2024-25 Premier League season.

Newcastle have yet to pay a fee for a player this summer, with 18-year-old Spanish winger Antonio Cordero the only new arrival on a free transfer from Malaga.

Forest are believed to have paid £15m to sign Elanga from Manchester United on a five-year-deal in 2023.

He had arrived at Old Trafford at the age of 12 and made 55 appearances before moving to the City Ground.

Newcastle’s pursuit of Elanga underlines just how far his stock has risen after a stellar campaign with Forest.

His statistical profile paints the picture of a player not just improving, but excelling in some of the most important attacking metrics.

Myths About Ringworm

Ringworm Myths

When you hear the term “ringworm,” do you imagine tiny worms crawling on your skin? Then you may have fallen prey to one of the many misconceptions about this common skin condition. In reality, ringworm is far less creepy than the name suggests.

In this article, we’ll clear up some of the myths about ringworm.

Myth 1: Ringworm is caused by a worm.

Probably the most common ringworm myth, this one stems from the condition’s name. Despite its creepy-crawly name, ringworm (also called tinea) is not caused by any worm. The culprit is actually a group of fungi called dermatophytes, which can cause skin infections. Ringworm gets its name from the distinctive ringlike pattern the red spots often form on the skin.

Myth 2: Ringworm only affects the skin.

Although ringworm often appears on the skin, including the scalp, it can also show up on the fingernails or toenails. Ringworm of the nails doesn’t create a ringlike pattern. Instead, it turns the nails thick, misshapen, and discolored.

Myth 3: Everyone with ringworm develops red rings on their skin.

Some people who are infected do develop the scaly red ring that gives the condition its name — but not everyone. If you get ringworm infection, you will probably see bumpy red patches around your skin, but they won’t necessarily take the shape of rings. On your scalp, ringworm may look more like a flaky red pimple than a ring.

Myth 4: Only children get ringworm.

Children are more likely to get certain types of ringworm, but you can get infected with the fungus at any age. You might get it from playing a sport with a lot of skin-to-skin contact, such as wrestling. Or from sharing a towel with someone who is infected. People with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV, might be at a higher risk for severe infection.

Myth 5: Ringworm isn’t contagious.

In fact, the opposite is true. Ringworm spreads easily from person to person, especially in communal areas such as locker rooms and neighborhood pools. Ringworm is so contagious that you don’t even have to touch someone to get infected. The fungus can linger in places such as locker room floors, as well as on hats, combs, and brushes.

If you share an infected brush or comb, you can develop ringworm of the scalp. The highly contagious nature of the condition is why doctors recommend staying away from anyone who is infected, as well as their personal items.

Myth 6: You’ll see symptoms of ringworm right after you’re infected.

Ringworm has a long incubation period. The red rash can actually take a few days to appear on your skin. If you have ringworm of the scalp, you may not see any signs for a full two weeks after you were exposed.

Myth 7: You can’t catch ringworm from your pet.

Humans and their pets can share several diseases, including ringworm. Not only can you catch ringworm from your cat, dog, rabbit, or bird, but you can also spread it to your pet. That’s why it’s important to take your pet to the vet if you suspect ringworm. Keep infected pets away from your family as well as from other pets. Also, wash your hands with soap and warm water every time you touch your pet until the infection clears.

Myth 8: A flaky scalp is probably dandruff, not ringworm.

Not necessarily. Sometimes, ringworm of the scalp doesn’t produce the signature ring. Instead, the skin becomes scaly and flaky, much like dandruff.

Myth 9: Ringworm is treated with antibiotics.

Antibiotics kill bacteria. So, they won’t work on ringworm, which is caused by a fungus. Ringworm is treated with antifungal medicines that you either rub on the skin or take by mouth. Ringworm of the scalp is treated with a special shampoo and an oral antifungal medicine. You may have to keep using whatever medicine you’re prescribed for several weeks to fully get rid of the infection.

Myth 10: Once you get ringworm, you can’t get it again.

It’s common to get infected again, especially with ringworm of the nails. It’s important that you follow your doctor’s recommended treatment plan until the infection goes away entirely. Otherwise, the ringworm can come back.

Jota’s car was probably speeding before fatal crash, Spanish police say

0
The late Diogo Jota

All the evidence so far suggests Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota was driving when his car crashed on a Spanish motorway, and he was probably speeding, say police.

The 28-year-old Liverpool player was killed with his brother André Silva, 25, when their Lamborghini car had a suspected tyre blowout in northwestern Zamora province early last Thursday.

Spain’s Guardia Civil police force said at the time the car had apparently been overtaking on the A52 motorway near Palacios de Sanabria when it left the road and burst into flames.

“Everything also points to a possible excessive speed beyond the speed limit of the road [highway],” said Zamora’s local traffic police.

Police said they had studied the marks left by one of the Lamborghini’s tyres and that “all the tests carried out so far indicate that the driver of the crashed vehicle was Diogo Jota”.

The expert report is being prepared for the courts on the accident, and their investigation is understood to have been made more complex by the intensity of the fire that almost completely destroyed the car.

The accident happened 11 days after Jota had married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso in Portugal. The couple had three children.

The brothers had been heading to the Spanish port of Santander so Jota could return to Liverpool for pre-season training.

PSG to face Real Madrid in blockbuster semis-finals showdown

0
Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid

Xabi Alonso will be aiming to make a strong statement on Tuesday night as he leads his side into the semi-finals of the Club World Cup against European champions Paris Saint-Germain at the MetLife Stadium in the United States.

Madrid have been impressive in the tournament so far, despite a shaky start in their opening match. The Spanish giants topped their group after winning two of their three games, with their only setback being a draw against Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

After advancing from the group stage, Madrid went on to eliminate Juventus and Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16 and quarter-finals, respectively. Goals from Mbappé and García were crucial in securing their spot in the semi-finals.

However, after narrowly edging past Dortmund, Madrid will need to tighten the gaps in their defense as they prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain, a team renowned for its attacking firepower.

Paris Saint-Germain, reigning Champions League winners, have carried their stellar domestic form into this tournament. Drawn in the same group as Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, PSG still managed to finish top of the group despite suffering a defeat to Brazilian side Botafogo.

In the round of 16, PSG faced Inter Miami and delivered one of their finest performances of the competition, dominating the match and cruising to a 4-0 victory.

Their quarter-final clash was against German powerhouse Bayern Munich, a tightly contested fixture filled with intensity both on and off the pitch. PSG kept their composure and advanced to the semi-finals with a solid 2-0 win.

Madrid and Paris have faced each other 12 times in total, and whenever these two European giants meet, it’s always an open contest with no clear favorite. Out of those encounters, Madrid have claimed 5 wins, Paris have secured 3 victories, and 4 matches have ended in a draw.

Madrid have had an inconsistent season, but their new coach has reignited hope of securing a crucial victory. On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain is determined to add another trophy to their cabinet this year. It promises to be a tough and tightly contested match.

The suspects with the exhumed human parts

Six persons, including a fetish priest and priestess have so far been arrested and are assisting in ongoing police investigation.

Information available to The Chronicle reveals that on December 4, 2024 Nelson Anyena, 24, got missing at about 19:00hours from Adidome.

On December 17, 2024, a report was made to the local Police and the case was subsequently forwarded to the Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further action.

Following intensive covert investigation coupled with police-civil cooperation, on June 30, 2025, the first three suspects were nabbed. They are Bedzo Courage aka Dzidefo, (25), Wisdom Hedidor, (31), and Augustina Fiawoyipe, (21).

The information from deepthroat source continued that the victim, Nelson Anyena was accused of befriending Augustina, a fetish priestess, who incidentally happened to be in a sexual relationship with Wisdom.

After he was killed at a distant location, his body was transported to the shrine, based in Blorkope, few meters from the main Adidome Township, on the Sogakope road.

The body was eventually sold to the fetish priest, Noah Gblor, 42, Yohanes Gblor, 27, and John Gblor, 40, for rituals at a price of GHS7,000.

At the scene, which was thronged by a large crowd of curiosity driven persons only barred by crime scene tape, the police searched the rooms and discovered two more unknown human remains.

Our source, who pleaded anonymity, stated that Noah Gblor, incharge of the diety, declined knowledge of how the two bodies got there. He, however, told the detectives that he inherited the shrine from his late father.

Engineers &Planners Acquires Black Volta Gold Project In Landmark $100m Deal

0
Ibrahim Mahama, CEO of Engineers & Planners (E&P)

Engineers and Planners (E&P), Ghana’s leading indigenous engineering and mining services company, has secured a landmark US$100 million investment facility from the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) to acquire and develop the Black Volta Gold Project.

The signing ceremony, held in Accra on Monday, July 7, 2025 brought together senior government officials, business leaders, mining stakeholders, financial institutions and media to witness what is being hailed as a historic milestone in Ghana’s drive for greater local ownership of its mineral wealth.

Speaking at the event, Sir Samuel Esson Jonah, renowned Ghanaian business icon and former CEO of Ashanti Goldfields Company described the agreement as a “watershed moment in Ghana’s mining history.

“This is the first large-scale, indigenous-owned gold mining project in the country. Today is not just about signing a document. It’s about repositioning Ghana from the periphery to the center of the mining value chain,” Sir Jonah said.

He praised Ibrahim Mahama, founder and CEO of Engineers and Planners as a symbol of vision, resilience and indigenous ambition.

“Back in 1998, when Ibrahim Mahama came to me, focused on alluvial mining, I advised him to pursue hard rock mining instead. Today, he stands tall, leading a project that could redefine Ghanaian participation in the global gold economy.”

He emphasised that the acquisition is purely merit-based, with no political or personal influences, noting that the deal dates back to 2023.

Deal Structure and Development Plan

Under the terms of the facility, the US$100 million will be disbursed in two tranches. The first US$50 million, originally due in June 2024, is now subject to a 4% penalty due to delayed disbursement.

The second tranche is expected by June 30, 2026. The funds will enable E&P to acquire full ownership of the Black Volta Gold Project and support mine development over a 21-month period.

Sir Jonah reiterated the commercial and strategic nature of the transaction, “This is not a favour. This is not crony capitalism. This is a purely commercial transaction built on strong fundamentals and a bold vision for indigenous ownership.”

He also called on the government to craft policies that enable more local mining companies to reach the stature of Engineers and Planners.

About the Black Volta Gold Project

Formerly known as the Azuma Project, the Black Volta Gold Project is one of Ghana’s most promising undeveloped gold assets.

Exploration began in the 1960s, with global players such as BHP Billiton and Ashanti Goldfields previously involved.

The Kunche and Bepkong (Big-Pong) deposits, along with the Julie prospect, form the core of the asset.

Noel Nii Addo, General Manager of Azuma and Chair of its Finance Committee, provided insight into the project’s history.

He noted that Azuma was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2007 and was fully acquired by a Liberian private equity firm in 2020.

“In October 2023, Azuma approached Engineers and Planners with a proposal to sell the project. Since then, E&P has been funding monthly operations to the tune of US$500,000, even before the formal acquisition,” Addo revealed.

He highlighted that the transaction goes beyond ownership and that it unlocks the capital needed to fully develop the mine and potentially attract more than US$245 million in future investment.

“This is not just an acquisition, it’s a launchpad for development, employment, and national value creation,” he said.

From Vision to Execution

Ibrahim Mahama, visibly moved by the occasion, expressed deep gratitude to his mentors and reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Ghana’s mining sector.“This project is not just for us, it’s for Ghana. It’s for every young Ghanaian who dreams of owning, building, and leading. We will deliver,” he said.

Government representatives echoed his sentiment, stating that the initiative aligns closely with national policy goals aimed at boosting local participation in the extractive industries.

“The initiative by E&P strongly affirms our government’s commitment to resource nationalism anchored in indigenous entrepreneurship,” a government official noted.

A Symbol of Hope and Responsibility

As the ceremony concluded, Sir Jonah issued a stirring call for responsible mining, environmental stewardship, and inclusive economic growth.

“Ownership matters, equity matters and national pride demands that we do more to ensure our people are at the heart of our mineral wealth development. Let today be remembered as the day Ghana turned the corner from resource extraction for others to resource empowerment for ourselves.”

With the deal now signed, Engineers and Planners will embark on a bold 21-month journey to bring Ghana’s first large-scale, locally owned gold mine into production, an achievement that could signal the dawn of a new era for the country’s mining industry and its broader economic future.
