Featuire: Bawumia – The next to lead for the prosperity of our country and NPP

0
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

There is no denying the fact that in the body politic of our country, the name, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, embodies HOPE and PROSPERITY not only for the New Patriotic Party but for the rest of the country.

It is the name that convinces even the greatest cynics in this world that the Ghanaian dream can become a REALITY. That Ghana can become the cynosure of the world in the area of digitalization, industrialization and economic transformation.

It is the name that convinces the Ghanaian that, some of the difficult things to do in life can be made easy and convenient by a simple click of a computer button or a mobile phone.

That, we can easily transfer money from our bank accounts to our MOMO accounts and the vice versa without visiting the bank. That, we can easily make mobile money transfers from one network to another.

That, we can sit at the comfort of our homes and buy ECG credits with our phones without visiting any ECG vendor.

That we can renew our health insurance subscriptions with our phones without visiting NHIS offices. That, we can visit any location in the country without asking anybody for direction.

Ultimately, it is the name that convinces the Ghanaian that, we can formalize our economy in a manner that makes life easy while at the same time enhancing revenue generation, bolstering the fight against crime and saving the Ghanaian taxpayer millions of Ghana cedis which would have otherwise been lost through corruption and systemic wastage.

In the NPP, the name, Bawumia also personifies party loyalty, commitment, tolerance, sacrifice and selflessness all of which are the very principles underpinning the founding of the NPP.

It would be recalled that Dr. Bawumia is that person who, for love of his party (NPP), left a lucrative job as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, to support the NPP as Running Mate in 2007, at the time everybody was tipping him to become the next Governor of the Central Bank. He only cared about the NPP.

When the Party lost the 2008 General Elections, he remained true and loyal to the New Patriotic Party, one of whose antecedent can be traced to the Northern Peoples Party, a political tradition founded by his biological father, Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia.

Indeed, the Bawumias have always been rooted in the NPP. They are never strangers. They also remain a significant part of the present day NPP, and will remain a significant part of the Party’s immediate and foreseeable future.

No amount of intimidation and attacks will make Dr. Bawumia even dream of resigning from the NPP unlike others who chickened out from the NPP in the past citing intimidation of their perceived supporters.

Interestingly, today, these same people who sought to leave the Party under the guise of suffering intimidation tell us that they are more loyal to the NPP than Dr. Bawumia. Clearly, the facts do not support their position.

On the contrary, the facts show that, unlike them, Dr. Bawumia’s loyalty to the NPP is unconditional, and cannot be shaken by any occurrence.

In the buildup to the 2012 General Elections, Dr. Bawumia had, owing to his scholarship and industry, been offered several employment opportunities by the World Bank and some top Universities in Europe and Canada.

He however, declined all these big offers just so that he would yet again focus on the NPP’s 2012 election bid.

Dr. Bawumia was subsequently appointed as Running Mate to the then Presidential Candidate.

At the end of the polls, the Electoral Commission declared the NPP as losers. After initial reservations, many NPP members and party kingpins later came to accept their fate. They gave up. But, Dr. Bawumia would not give up.

He was convinced that many things had gone wrong in the elections and that, the NPP didn’t lose the elections.

Dr. Bawumia gallantry inspired the rank and file of the Party to share in his strong conviction. He led the NPP to conduct an intensive audit into the elections and all pink sheets leveraging on technology.

After this exercise, the Party was able to successfully uncover the rigging machinery that was deployed in the elections. Dr. Bawumia who had virtually become a full time employee at the Party Headquarters with no salary, was vindicated.

The Party then mounted an unprecedented election petition. Dr .Bawumia again abandoned all his schedules to become the Party’s Star Witness in the 8-month election petition.

Interestingly, at the time Dr. Bawumia was risking his life and fighting for the NPP in this unprecedented election petition, some of his competitors today, had left the jurisdiction and were busily chasing for jobs at the World Trade Organization.

The petition indeed revealed many of the rots that characterized the 2012 elections. As many as five out of the nine Supreme Court judges upheld at least one of petitioners’ claims.

The five judges that agreed with the Dr. Bawumia-inspired election petition included Justice Jones Dotse, Justice Rose Constance Owusu, Justice Julius Ansah, Justice Anim Yeboah and Justice Baffoe-Bonnie.

It had to take the mathematical ingenuity on the part of the presiding judge, Justice William Atuguba, to declare the petitioners as losers of the election petition, a development many lawyers are still yet to come to terms with.

That notwithstanding, all the nine (9) Supreme Court Judges UNANIMOUSLY agreed with Dr. Bawumia that there were several irregularities with the 2012 general elections.

The point of departure was the extent to which the irregularities impacted the election outcome announced by the EC. Equally, all the nine (9) judges concluded that having regard to the revelations in the election petition, the subsequent conduct of presidential elections by the EC, would not be the same.

Indeed, as a result of this Bawumia-inspired election petition, the EC, taking a cue from the recommendations of the Court, undertook several election reforms making it practically impossible for elections to ever be rigged in this country.

These reforms, coupled with lessons learnt by the NPP from the election petition, was what SET THE STAGE for the NPP’s historic victory in the 2016 General Elections, where the Party won by over a million votes.

Again, in the run-up to the 2020 General Elections, Dr. Bawumia chaired the NPP Manifesto Committee which Manifesto, delivered yet another resounding victory for the NPP in the presidential elections.

The NPP won the 2020 presidential elections with over 500,000 votes, which is the highest margin of victory in the history of the Fourth Republic for a political party seeking a second-term in office.

All in all, Dr. Bawumia has proven to be the biggest revelation and addition to the NPP’s electoral fortunes in the last two decades. He has consolidated the NPP’s support-base among the middle class.

He has delivered the Universities to the NPP. He has delivered his home region [the original Northern Region] to the NPP.

I’m not sure anybody had ever thought the NPP could ever win more Parliamentary Seats than the NDC in the original Northern Region, but it happened in the last General Elections, with the NPP winning 16 parliamentary seats against the NDC’s 15.

This is, of course, largely because of the ‘Bawumia Factor’. In fact, Dr. Bawumia has delivered even the Zongos to the NPP. It is also noteworthy that his emergence in the country’s political landscape has drastically changed the face of our body politic.

He has changed our appreciation of politics from propaganda to facts and data. He is the all-time biggest threat to the NDC’s political fortunes.

Dr. Bawumia is down to earth and trustworthy. He is only focused on getting the job done and delivering prosperity to Ghanaians and the NPP. How much more can a man be a blessing to his Country and Party!

H.E Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, you are indeed a great blessing to the NPP, and to every Ghanaian.

We have all lived and felt your wonderful leadership. Accordingly, on the occasion of your 59th birthday, I gladly join the rest of the World to wish you a Happy Birthday. May Almighty ALLAH continue to grant your heart desires.

Your best is indeed yet to come, and Insha Allah, you shall be the next flagbearer of the NPP, and eventually become the next President of our country. You are, indeed, the ‘THE NEXT TO LEAD’ FOR THE PROSPERITY OF OUR COUNTRY AND PARTY.

Dortmund in dramatic two-goal comeback against Bayern

Dortmund in dramatic comeback

It was a difficult night for the record German champions Bayern Munich, who threw away a two-goal lead in the 95th minute.

Bayern led their rivals 1-0 thanks to midfielder Leon Goretzka, who gave the visitors the lead after half an hour. Leroy Sane stretched the lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute, unleashing a fierce shot.

17-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko set up a dramatic finale when he picked up a Modeste pass to beat Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer in the 74th minute.

Neuer managed to claw away a paltry effort from Anthony Modeste who should have ensured parity in the 83rd minute. Though he would have one last chance to rescue a point for Dortmund, which he duly took, heading in a last-gasp leveler.

The stunning two-goal comeback rescued a point for the black-and-yellow and subsequently Bayern off the top spot.

Tomori on target as Milan beat Juventus

AC Milan vs Juventus

AC Milan warmed up for their Champions League rematch with Chelsea by easily beating Juventus at the San Siro. Centre-back Fikayo Tomori smashed in a confident opener.

Winger Brahim Diaz then blitzed the Juve defence to double the lead after half-time.

Tomori had only scored one goal in Italy since joining Milan, initially on loan, but he showed great composure to blast past Wojciech Szczesny on the stroke of half-time.

He needed to, having inadvertently blocked Olivier Giroud’s goal-bound strike. As the ball fell nicely off his body, he drove it high into the net.

Shortly after the break Diaz latched on to a loose pass from Dusan Vlahovic, seared through the Juve defence and fired in off the palms of Szczesny.

Divock Origi could have made it three in injury time but Szczesny was equal to his effort.

Juventus have struggled this season and are yet to win on their travels, but had at least started well, only to be overwhelmed by a resurgent Milan.

This was a very different side to the one that crumpled in London and Tuesday’s Champions League tie is shaping up to be a tasty encounter.

Real Madrid in narrow win at Getafe

Eder Militao scored the only goal in the third minute

Real Madrid went top of La Liga with a narrow win over local rivals Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Eder Militao opened the scoring for the champions, rising highest to head home Luka Modric’s corner in the third minute.

The visitors had a second goal ruled out for offside after the break following a deft Rodrygo chip over Getafe keeper David Soria.

Los Blancos also had a first-half penalty overturned.

Vinicius Junior was brought down by Luis Milla in the penalty area but the forward had earlier dribbled the ball out of play down the touchline.

Getafe’s best chance to equalise came midway through the first half with Borja Mayoral unable to turn in Fabrizio Angileri’s shot across goal.

Madrid go three points clear of second-placed Barcelona who play Celta Vigo on Sunday, while Getafe stay 16th.

Ramos sent off 28th time as PSG are held by Reims

Ramos was shown two yellow cards towards the end of the first half

Sergio Ramos was sent off for the 28th time in his career as Paris St-Germain were held by Reims.

The former Real Madrid defender was shown two yellow cards in quick succession for arguing with the referee shortly before half-time.

PSG, without the injured Lionel Messi, needed a good save from Gianluigi Donnarumma to deny Arber Zeneli.

But Neymar missed a golden chance to win it for PSG when he ran through but somehow shot wide.

Things got feisty towards the end as the visitors appeared to get frustrated, with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe both booked for fouls.

It is only the second time this season the Ligue 1 leaders, who are three points ahead of second-placed Marseille, have dropped points.

Reims, who have won just once in 10 games so far this season, are 14th.

Rampant City sweep Southampton aside

City players jubilate

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says Erling Haaland is helping to bring the best out of Kevin de Bruyne after seeing the pair help his side sweep Southampton aside.

Haaland scored his 20th goal for City against Saints, while De Bruyne’s pass to set up Phil Foden means his stats are just as stellar, with nine assists in his first nine league games.

City attacked relentlessly from the start and Haaland was within inches of giving them an early lead when – to the surprise of virtually the entire stadium – he hit the inside of the post after galloping clear.

Instead it was Joao Cancelo who put the home side ahead, running on to Phil Foden’s pass. Foden got on the scoresheet himself soon afterwards with a dinked finish after De Bruyne found him in space in the box.

City wrapped up the points at the start of the second half when Riyad Mahrez volleyed home a Rodri cross.

As the chances kept coming however, you just knew Haaland would take one – and so he did, meeting Cancelo’s cutback with a typically precise low finish to make it 4-0 after 65 minutes.

Dominant Chelsea defeat lacklustre Wolves

Kai Havertz scores for Chelsea

Armando Broja scored his first Chelsea goal in a dominant victory over a lacklustre Wolves, who remain without a permanent manager.

Kai Havertz opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time but the Blues could have put the game out of sight long before then.

Christian Pulisic doubled the lead, playing a one-two with Mason Mount and sending the ball sailing past goalkeeper Jose Sa before Broja hammered into the bottom corner with his left foot late on.

The game marked Graham Potter’s first home Premier League victory as Chelsea boss.

He made wholesale changes to the line-up from the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend, swapping seven players and showcasing the depth in the squad, with Conor Gallagher earning a start after scoring the winner last time out and Reece James and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the bench.

Wolves, playing their first match since sacking manager Bruno Lage last weekend appeared unorganised.

Kwame Zu eyes NDC Top Job …despite alleged adverse findings against him by Fact-Finding Committee

0
Kwame Zu, Ashanti Regional NDC Secretary

The embattled incumbent Ashanti Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwame Zu, is lacing his boots to grab the Deputy General Secretary slot of the party.

A post on his Facebook page, Wednesday, inferred he was moving on from his current duty post as the Regional Secretary for Ashanti region to National Deputy Secretary.

The post reads: “We know the road will be muddy and rough, but we’ll get there. I will soon commence my regional engagements before the Constituency elections towards our resolve to serve as a Deputy General Secretary of our beloved Party. See you soon.”

In an interview on Kumasi-based Orange FM, this week, Mr. Zu said his next move is to pick nomination forms in pursuance of his decision.

COMMITTEE WANTS MR ZU BARRED

His determination to pursue the high post to become one of NDC’s chief scribes at the national level rather calls the bluff of a recommendation that he should be barred from party activities.

A Fact-Finding Committee set up by the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders unravelled what actually happened before, during and after the 2020 general elections in the region.

The Dr Samuel Sarpong-chaired committee was also tasked with coming up with recommendations, which could be implemented to improve the NDC election results in the Ashanti Region.

The Chronicle is in possession of the committee’s report, which has the executive summary, findings and recommendations. Though the detailed report has the names of all the committee members, it has not been signed. But the paper has no reason to doubt the credibility of its source.

The committee made 17 recommendations and the last one was that the Ashanti Regional Secretary, Kwame Zu, should be barred from all party activities.

It stated that: “The Regional Secretary abandoned his position soon after the elections, which amounted to betrayal of the party.

“This action by the Regional Secretary reinforces the public perception that he compromised his position. It is, therefore, recommended that he should be barred from all party activities.”

WHAT WITNESSES TOLD COMMITTEE

Aside from the document with the executive summary, findings and recommendations, the Spear of the Nation, The Chronicle, also has in its possession another document, detailing what witnesses told the fact-finding committee. In all, 18 witnesses appeared before the committee, including Kwame Zu.

The tenth witness, according to the document, was George Abofra, the Regional Elections Director. He allegedly told the committee that “on December 6, 2020, whilst the directorate was setting up for the elections, Kwame Zu told the Elections Director that his work ended that day, 6th December. He had set up a collation center in a room at the Regional Secretariat.

“This had never happened before. I informed some members of the Elections Directorate about what Kwame Zu had told me. Some got angry and left…”

DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ELECTIONS

Mr. Sylvanus Soga, also known as Sly, told the committee that the election directorate got a lot of backlash after the elections, adding that he was “prepared to present our part of what happened” to the committee.

According to him, his election directorate was “completely disorganized for election 2020. The Regional Secretary, Kwame Zu, completely captured our leader, Mr. Abofra. The Regional Secretary effectively set us aside and pushed us to the periphery of the elections. We could not play the way we knew we had to.”

Other witnesses made some damning allegations against the Regional Secretary, Kwame Zu, to the committee.

In sum, accusing fingers were pointed at him for helping the defeat of the NDC in the Ashanti Region.

The Committee was informed by various witnesses about how the actions of Kwame Zu portrayed wrongdoing, except to say he may have compromised his duties.

Most witnesses cited issues before, during, and after the elections, claims which persuaded the committee to conclude that his actions reinforced the public perception that he compromised his position, and went ahead to recommend that he be barred from all party activities.

KWAME ZU TAKES THE STAGE

After the committee had welcomed Kwame Zu to the hearing, he thanked the committee for the opportunity, adding that he should have run to them.

According to Kwame Zu, “there was a mixture of bitterness, sadness, disappointment are very heavy on me. So, it is better late than never. I might explain why, at a point, I had not too much confidence in the composition of the committee.”

He is captured further in the report to have said that the elections directorate runs through the national, regional, constituency and branch.

Some witnesses alleged that a background check revealed most of the party agents were connected to the New Patriotic Party. Also, on the day of the polls, most of the agents abandoned their posts.

Explaining how he got involved in the recruitment of polling agents, Kwame Zu narrated how a letter came late in November 2020, in which Mr. Griffiths, in charge of IT, needed to recruit agents and contacted him, adding that each constituency was to recruit IT personnel to be responsible for transmitting election results.

When asked if there were polling agents at all stations, Mr. Zu answered in the opposite and retorted that until he met the committee, he did not know and said it was “extremely ridiculous, if not absurd. Agents were assigned to recruit personnel…”

The committee asked if he dismissed Mr. Abofra as had been alleged, but Kwame Zu denied, claiming it was “very weird and blatantly strange that he [Abofra] claims I sacked him.”

Market women organise birthday bash for Alan Cash

Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, Minister for Trade & Industry

The Minister for Trade and Industry and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential-hopeful, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has been endorsed by various groups to lead the party into the next elections when he celebrated his 67th Birthday recently.

The Queens, a pro-Alan female group, in collaboration with the women traders at Adehyeɛ Market in Kumasi, organised an enthralling party to celebrate Alan Kyerematen for his enormous accomplishments.

Alan Cash, as he is fondly called by his followers, has achieved great, deals which include an $8.5 million state-of-the-art factory the revival of the oil palm industry and mobilising new investments to expand salt mining operations.

As at August 2022, 125 factories were reported to be in operation under the government’s flagship programme, One District, One Factory (1D1F), believed to be his brainchild.

Elaborating on his achievements, through the Ministry for Trade, the National President of the Queens, Afia Korankyewaa, at the programme said, Alan was worthy of celebration, judging from his immense contribution to the NPP government.

“His Ministry, Trades and Industry, is arguably the best ministry so far, and has created over 160,000 jobs for the youth in the 125 established factories in the country.”

Also, women traders at the Adehyeɛ market couldn’t hide their joy and were dumbfounded that the Queens chose to celebrate the birthday with them this year.

Addressing the media, a leader at the Market, Eno Mary, seized the opportunity to throw her weight behind Alan Kyerematen, pledging to support him with prayers and even to pay for his nomination forms when the NPP opens nominations. “Alan is our hope,” the market women shouted.

Madam Mary prayed the NPP government to, as a matter of urgency, find strategies and interventions to salvage the harsh economic situation to help sustain their businesses.

She showered blessings upon the life of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and assured him of her support and the support of all the market women at the Adehyeɛ market should he consider contesting in the upcoming flagbearership primary of the NPP.

Another group of delegates, “Pearls Ladies for Alan”, in rooting for the Trades and Industry Minister to lead the party in 2024, said they were upbeat about his chances.

According to them, the chances of Mr. Kyerematen winning the December 7, 2024 presidential election made him the best choice as the party’s flagbearer.

The National President of the group, Josephine Obiri Yeboah, said her group had endorsed Alan, because of his track record as a unifier who will help garner votes from all quarters of the party.

“We have all seen honourable Alan Kyerematen’s service of sacrifice and humility,” adding that he had served under former President John Agyekum Kufuor and the current President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

It is time for him to lead the party and the country. He will help end the struggle of the youth, through job creation and other entrepreneurial skills training.”

She added that: “Ghanaians have seen what former President John Dramani Mahama can do, and thus they won’t vote for him, because he has misled the country.

Alan Kyerematen, however, has created good grounds for the country through the Trade Ministry. He can help break the eight.”

She advised fellow delegates not to dwell on tribal and monetary considerations to cast their votes, rather they should vote for a competent and honest person of integrity, who could do the job and could be trusted by Ghanaians.

“My advice to my fellow delegates is that we should not vote based on tribal and monetary grounds, rather we should vote for someone who is up to the task. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has been working for the party and the country, we know him this is not the time to vote for a new person; we want a true party man.

He can do the job.”

The men were not left out of the Alan Kyerematen birthday, as a former NPP Chairman for Ejisu Constituency, Okai Kwanin, recounted how ‘Chief’ Alan, as he refers to him, included the youth in governance.

“I remember in 1992, he was the Chairman of the famous Young Executives Forum, which comprised of young businessmen by then when the party was at the stage of being incubated; when the party decided to buy its first party headquarters he contributed his quota by giving money to establish the party office.”

Congratulating Alan on his 67th Birthday, former Chairman Okai reiterated how he stepped aside for his seniors to contest, by graciously conceded defeat and assisted the current President, Akuffo-Addo, for the unity of the party.

“Alan has helped to re-organise the party; he did a yeoman’s job to campaign for the current President to win the elections in 2016 and 2020. Everybody in this party knows its Alan’s time.

I believe that one thing that can propel him to become the President of this country is the industrialisation agenda that he is pursuing now; if everything is lost, 1D1F is the only policy that is carrying the country along.  I believe that if the story is told well to the delegates and his growing popularity, he will be voted for.”

Adding his voice to the call for all to unite and vote for Alan Kyerematen, a former NPP Electoral Area Coordinator, Dawda Jentumah, pledged his support for Alan Cash.

According to him, Mr. Kyerematen stood tallest among all his peers, and if the NPP delegates vote for him, the party would have a good story to tell Ghanaians in 2024.

“He has all the credential to help the party break the eight, 2024 election requires a very innovative and trusted personality to lead the party, and Alan Kyerematen is creative, innovative and trustworthy one NPP needs.

His works at the trade ministry is an indication that if the party presents him for the 2024 elections we will have a very attractive campaign message to tell Ghanaian,” Dauda Jantumah postulated.

He believed that the Trade Minister had all the credentials to help the party break the eight, which was the party’s core focus for the upcoming elections.

“I entreat all delegates not be carried away by monetary influence, tribal and religious campaign to vote against their conviction. They should look at the bigger picture which is breaking the eight to vote.

The next generation of Ghanaians will look for a leader who will look at entrepreneurs, who will take entrepreneurs to heart and that is the only way we can build the country,” he stressed.

Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, or Alan Cash, has a lot of accomplishments and achievements, both locally and internationally. His name has been mentioned in a lot of functions, important places, and occasions.

In 1994, Cash was included in a list by the TIME Magazine as one of the 100 Global Leaders for the New Millennium, in the same category as Bill Gates and John F. Kennedy.

Aowin Traditional Council petitions IGP over alleged assassination attempts on Omanhene

Nana Kojo Ntow speaking to the media

THE Aowin Traditional Council (ATC) has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to show interest in chieftaincy matters in the area, especially the recent assassination attempt on the life of the Omanhene of the area, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III.
According to the ATC, since Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III ascended the stool as Omanhene, there have been several attempts on his life.

Speaking to the media, the chief of Aowin Nkwanta, Nana Kojo Ntow III, said there have been seven assassination attempts on the life of the Omanhene, since he ascended the stool on March 23, 2019.

He accused a faction in the chieftaincy dispute of being behind all the attempts to kill the chief.  Though The Chronicle does not have any evidence to corroborate the allegation being made by Nana Kojo Ntow III, the latter insisted that those behind the ‘elimination’ plot contested the paramount chief, but lost when the stool became vacant.

He claimed the said faction filed a petition at the Western Regional House of Chiefs (WRHC) challenging the enstoolment of the sitting chief but lost. They subsequently filed an appeal at the National House of Chiefs (NHC), which is yet to be determined.
According to Nana Kojo Ntow III, a recent attack on the Omanhene and the palace make them believe that the paramount chief’s opponents were behind the plot.

He alleged that the paramount chief had assembled his elders and were deliberating on issues affecting the traditional area when all of a sudden, thugs entered the palace to attack them, but they miraculously escaped from being harmed.

Nana Kojo Ntow III further told the media that Kwaku Peace, Daniel Iddrisu, Kwaku Njamah, Fada and many others were captured by the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) in the palace as some of thugs who attacked them.

The chief did not, however, show to the reporters footage of the incident as captured by the CCTV. He said, after attacking the palace, the thugs slaughtered a ram to indicate that they have destooled the Omanhene.

According to him, though the issue was reported to the Police, all the suspects have all been set free, despite the overwhelming evidence against them.

The decision to set the suspects free, he continued, has convinced them that the police were not ready to give them justice.

As a result, they are appealing to the IGP to take interest in the chieftaincy matters in the area and act accordingly by investigating the assassination attempts on the life of the Omanhene and the palace.
