Man United charged for failing to control players in Newcastle stalemate

Man United have been charged for failing to control their players

Manchester United have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players after referee Craig Pawson was surrounded for disallowing a Cristiano Ronaldo goal in Sunday’s draw with Newcastle.

Pawson included the incident in his report and the FA announced on Tuesday that United have been charged for failure ‘to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in the 49th minutes of this match’. United have until Thursday to respond.

Ronaldo, who last week accepted an FA misconduct charge, thought he had scored when he took the ball away from Nick Pope as the Newcastle goalkeeper prepared to take a free kick, and scored in an empty net.

Ronaldo thought Fabian Schar had already taken the free kick and passed to Pope so the ball was live. However, Pawson agreed with Newcastle that Pope had yet to take it.

Ronaldo led the appeals to Pawson as his teammates surrounded the referee. United manager Erik ten Hag could barely conceal his anger over the incident afterwards, and confronted the match officials after the final whistle to complain.

‘I don’t have a comment, everyone has seen it,’ fumed Ten Hag afterwards. ‘I shared that with them (the officials). Everyone has seen what happened today on the pitch.’

Ten Hag then qualified his words during his press conference on Tuesday afternoon.  ‘I want to express that we have always accepted the refere’s decisions,’ he said.

Klopp charged with improper conduct in Liverpool, Man City game

Klopp towered over the official to make his feelings clear

Jurgen Klopp has been charged by the Football Association for improper conduct after berating the assistant referee in his side’s 1-0 win over Manchester City.

The Liverpool manager was sent to the stands by Anthony Taylor after being deemed to have acted in an aggressive manner towards Gary Beswick following the officials’ waving play on when Klopp felt Mohamed Salah had been fouled.

The FA’s charge, relating to Klopp’s breaking of the FA Rule E3, opens the prospect of the Liverpool manager having to spend one or more games in the stands.

Charging Klopp on Tuesday afternoon, the FA’s statement read: ‘Jurgen Klopp has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 following the Premier League game between Liverpool FC and Manchester City FC on Sunday [16/10/22].

‘It is alleged that the Liverpool FC manager’s behaviour during the 86th minute of this game was improper and he has until Friday [21/10/22] to respond.’

Rule E3 in the FA’s handbook for the 2022-23 season reads as follows: ‘A participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour.’

In a feisty and tetchy game, Klopp had previously got too close to the fourth official when complaining about another incident and his shouting at Beswick was adjudged to have overstepped the mark.

Today’s Mid-Week European Leagues Fixtures & Previews

Eriksen, Manchester United

Man United to return to winning ways against Tottenham

Today’s tantalising Premier League battle at Old Trafford, sees Manchester United seek to return to winning ways against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils were forced to accept a point in a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United last time out, while Antonio Conte‘s men ran out 2-0 winners over Everton.

Having seen his side’s three-game winning run come to an abrupt end on Sunday, Erik ten Hag must pick up the pieces and help his side regain some ground on the top four, as the fifth-placed Red Devils have now fallen three points behind Chelsea after nine matches.

Antonio Conte’s men had to be patient to break down a dogged Everton defence, and they have been rewarded heavily for their efforts, moving level on points with Manchester City in third place following the champions’ loss to Liverpool and ensuring their gap to leaders Arsenal would stay at four.

The introduction of Bissouma proved pivotal in Tottenham getting over the line against Everton, but the Lilywhites have flattered to deceive on the road so far this season, whereas Man United are a tough nut to crack at Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen if Christian Eriksen will recover from illness in time to line up against his former club.

The Red Devils will also take confidence from their recent spate of goal-laden wins against the Lilywhites, but it is difficult to back Ten Hag’s side to prevail against Conte’s resilient crop, and we think a low-scoring draw is the most likely result in this Big Six battle.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool

Liverpool lock horns with West Ham at Anfield

The Premier League returns to the fold with another round of matches this week as West Ham United lock horns with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side in an important clash at Anfield on Wednesday.

West Ham United have not been at their best so far this season. The Hammers were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Southampton in their previous game and will need to take it up a notch this week.

Liverpool have failed to meet expectations this year, however, the Merseyside outfit stunned Manchester City with a 1-0 victory over the weekend and have a point to prove in this fixture. Mohamed Salah seems to have found his feet this season and will look to add to his goalscoring tally this weekend.

West Ham United can pack a punch on the counter but have not been at their best this season. Liverpool are in better form at the moment and should be able to win this game.

Mason Mount, Chelsea

High-flying Chelsea face Brentford in West London derby

Seeking to continue a perfect October with a sixth win on the bounce in all competitions, Chelsea travel to face Brentford in Wednesday’s West London derby in the Premier League.

An inconsistent Brentford lock horns with Graham Potter’s impressive Chelsea outfit at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Brentford have been inconsistent so far this season but managed to pick up an important 2-0 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion over the weekend and will be confident ahead of this fixture.

After a slow start to their Premier League campaign, Chelsea have bounced back under new Manager Graham Porter. The Blues defeated Aston Villa by a 2-0 margin in their previous game and will look to achieve a similar result this week.

Chelsea have shown drastic improvement under Graham Potter and have managed to reclaim their place in the Premier League top four. The likes of Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling have stepped up under the new regime and will be intent on making their mark today.

Brentford have relied heavily on Ivan Toney in the final third this season and do have a few issues to address ahead of this match. Chelsea are the better team on paper and should be able to win this game.

Benzema, Real Madrid

Struggling Elche welcome league leaders Real Madrid

Struggling Elche welcome league leaders Real Madrid to the Estadio Martinez Valero on Wednesday, still searching for their first win of the season.

After Cadiz’s recent upturn in form, Elche have sunk to the bottom of the LaLiga table after a winless start to the campaign. The hosts were unfortunate not to take all three points in their 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday, while the visitors won the 250th instalment of El Clasico to go three points clear at the top.

Returning home on Wednesday, Elche will be carrying some confidence into this tie, off the back of their best performance this season, but face a whole different proposition with the visit of the defending European champions.

Visitors Real Madrid could hardly be in more contrasting form to their relegation-threatened opponents, after a 3-1 victory over arch-rivals Barcelona took the capital club three points clear at the top of the table.

Unbeaten in their last 18 competitive fixtures, and with just four defeats in their last 47 LaLiga outings, Carlo Ancelotti‘s men are churning out results in formidable fashion as they look to defend their title, having only dropped two points so far this campaign.

Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema grabbed his first goal in five appearances, ending a mini goal drought by the prolific Frenchman’s standards. He will certainly be licking his lips ahead of a trip to the league’s leakiest defence.

Akufo-Addo Tells Radio Listeners: Mahama Has Failed The Truth Test; On Unprecedented Road Infrastructure Claim

0
President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has shot down claims by his predecessor, Mr John Dramani Mahama, that he constructed a number of roads and other infrastructural projects during his tenure as president of Ghana, which is unprecedented in the annals of this country.

In an interview with Kumasi-based OTECH FM, which is the first private radio station in Ghana, Akufo-Addo argued that in spite of the declaration by Mr John Mahama that his infrastructure achievements for Ghana are unprecedented, everywhere he (Akufo-Addo) goes,  Ghanaians are demanding for better roads. This, he continued, defeats Mahama’s unprecedented road infrastructure argument.

“When I took over the reins of government from John Mahama, he made an assertion that infrastructure development in his time was unprecedented. Soon after I took over, I embarked on a national tour and everywhere I went, Ghanaians told me of the bad nature of their roads. So it became obvious to me that the unprecedented infrastructure assertions by John Mahama were untrue”, the president stated.

Touching on the road network in Ashanti region, he explained that his government has completed 86 road projects covering 1,850 kilometres.  Another 310 projects have been also been awarded on contract and currently being executed.

He lauded the roads minister, Kwasi Amoako Atta, saying “I do not think there is a minister who has a record like Kwasi Amoako Atta. There is nobody,” asking which road minister has put up the package of roads that Amoako Atta has done.

The president, however, acknowledged that owing to Ghana’s budget constraints, all roads cannot be worked on simultaneously.

President Akufo-Addo disclosed that in his first term as the president of Ghana, he was excellent, adding that the agricultural sector has recorded significant achievements in the midst of global challenges. He contended that there are no food shortages in the country, though he admitted that prices of foods have gone up.

On industrialisation of the Ghanaian economy, the president noted that under the ID1F programme, industries are springing up all over Ghana and that, out of the 295 factories  projected, 120 have been realised.

Apart from this, he said the development at the automobile industry, where vehicles are being assembled in Ghana is worth celebrating.

All these developments, according to the president, happened under the watch of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, who steered the economy from stormy waters when he took over the reins of the country under IMF programme.

Akufo-Addo, therefore, rejected suggestions that he should sack Ofori Atta, saying he is competent.

On Ghana’s quest to seek a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Akufo-Addo told the listeners that going to the IMF was a hard decision he had to take as the leader of this country.

“It was a difficult decision but I think that when you are in the chair you cannot be taking easy decisions which are going to compromise the welfare of your people down the line.

“We are going to come up with a budget for the country in the middle of the month. I hope that the IMF decision will be over – at least substantially, so that we would have a clear idea of the elements of the facts, which hopefully would feed into the budget and drive our budgetary projections from next year.”

Asked about when Ghana will exit the IMF programme , he noted the programme is ongoing in Washington and the finance minister will brief him fully when he gets back to Ghana to establish the kind of programme that Ghana struck with the IMF.

Touching on the expectation of the government concerning the credit bailout, the president told his listeners; “We are looking for programmes which will give us significant relief for our balance of payment support. Not just the IMF, but there are other important sovereign funds which we can access once we have the IMF certificate.”

President commissions bungalows for Appeal Court judges in Kumasi

The commissioned bungalows

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned a residential complex, made up of 24 bungalows, a Club house and a Tennis court for appeal court judges.

The facility, which he described as a huge infrastructural development in the judiciary since independence, is part of 115 bungalows for about 120 courts being constructed nationwide, to improve the image and status of the judges in the country.

About 70% of these bungalows are completed, he said. He commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for making seven acres of land available free of charge for the project, in the quest to improve the justice system the country.

The president charged the judiciary to deliver justice timely for the people of Ghana to promote law and order to leverage delivery of justice.

He stated that timely delivery of justice would enhance rule of law, restore and enforce the law as Ghanaians resolve to maintain law and order.

The President noted that Ghana had come a long way hence the government’s resolve to bring a new civilization towards freedom and Justice.

The Chief Justice, Kwesi Anin Yeboah, commended the Nana Akufo-Addo led government for retooling and investing in the infrastructural development of the judiciary.

He noted that the poor physical infrastructure is over, with the commitment of the government to invest in the justice system.

The CJ noted that the Appeal Court complex constructed in 2008 by former President John Agyekum Kufuor was aimed at removing backlog of cases in the Ashanti region.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has inspected Children and Mother’s ward under construction at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and commissioned a new sub-station of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for the health facility.

He also inspected the second phase of the Kejetia project, where the contractor at the site said about 99% of engineering works have been completed, while 49% of total construction is completed.

The contractor assured the president that the whole project could be completed by February 2024.

Re: re-launch of operation Halt II

Operation Halt II

The attention of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has been drawn to publications in a section of the media, to the effect that the military is to be blamed or held responsible for any failures in the fight against illegal mining.

These publications attribute this comment to the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel A. Jinapor, MP, during his Press Update on the fight against illegal mining at the Ministry of Information on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

While the Ministry welcomes and commends the Ghanaian media for their interest and enthusiasm in matters involving illegal mining, for the avoidance of doubt, the Minister did NOT say the military is to be blamed or held responsible for any failures in the fight against illegal mining.

What the Minister said was to the effect that the military has been put fully in charge of the operations on the ground.

Accordingly, they are to carry out their mission without interference from any person whatsoever. They are to take instructions only from the military high command on matters relating to the ongoing operations, and in accordance with their established command and control structures.

The above comments have, obviously, been misunderstood by a section of the media. The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has absolute confidence in the professionalism, capability and integrity of the Ghana Armed Forces to accomplish this mission.

Dr. Opuni might go blind if… -Doc

Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni

The Medical Director of St. Lucy Eye Clinic, Dr. Abalo Kodjo, has told the Criminal Division ‘1’ of the Accra High Court that the if care was not taken, the former Chief Executive (CE) of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, might go blind.

He told the court, presided over by Justice Clemence Honynuga, that Dr. Opuni, first accused person (A1) in a GH¢2.1 billion cocoa trial, a day after his eye surgery developed some complications, which, if not managed properly, would result in the former COCOBOD boss going blind.

Dr. Kodjo explained to the court that the complications were a result of pressure that had built up in the eye, and that could cause the eye to become like a stone.

The St. Lucy Eye Clinic Medical Director disclosed this while being cross-examined by the Chief State Attorney, Evelyn Keelson, yesterday.

Dr. Kodjo was called upon by the court to answer questions regarding a medical report that he prepared, which was submitted to the court for Dr. Opuni to be granted six weeks excuse duty.

However, when Mrs. Keelson posed the question to him – that what harm would it cause if Dr. Opuni wore dark glasses to attend to duties he is mandated to?

The Medical Officer responded that Dr. Opuni was having artificial lens on one of his eyes, which could not naturally absorb light, therefore, needed time for the retinal to stabilise.

He warned that after an eye surgery anything could happen, since the retinal was very fragile, and went ahead to make reference to a similar case, which the Centre was dealing with.

According to him: “He (Dr. Opuni) has natural lens on the right eye, but the left is artificial lens. The capacity of artificial lens to absorb light is zero. Focusing on bright things he can’t be comfortable.”

The Chief State Attorney further pressed hard on the Medical Officer, saying: “I’m putting it to you that in the same way Dr. Opuni attends reviews at the clinic, in the same vein, he can attend proceedings and sit quietly and observe proceedings without any harm?”

Dr. Kodjo indicated that the six weeks were crucial for the healing process, adding that the period was not exclusive to Dr. Opuni, but all retinal surgery operations.

He added that in some cases, patients are given two to six months excuse duty, depending on the healing process.

Justice Honyenuga, after hearing the Ophthalmologist, and also considering that hearing via video conference, said it could not be possible in the case of Dr. Opun, and granted the six weeks excuse duty.

His Lordship adjourned the case to next month, November 7, for continuation.

Background

Dr. Opuni is standing trial with businessman Seidu Agongo and his company, Agricult Ghana Limited.

The three have been slapped with some 27 charges, including causing financial loss to the Republic of Ghana, money laundering, corruption of public officer, violation of procurement laws and defrauding by false pretenses.

Nana Agradaa secures bail @ Court 9; but still remains a ‘guest’ of the police

0
Patricia Asiedu

After two failed attempts, the embattled Fetish Priestess turned Evangelist, Patricia Asieduaa, has finally secured bail in the sum of GH¢50,000.00 with three sureties at the Accra Circuit Court ‘9’.

The court, presided over by Samuel Bright Acquah, granted Nana Agradaa bail yesterday and ordered that her sureties must be government workers earning not less than GH¢2,000.00 a month.

Mr. Acquah further ordered that Nana Agradaa, who celebrated her 41st Birthday yesterday, is to report to the police every Wednesday and reappear before the court on November 10, 2022.

The bail application was applied for by Paul Assibi Abariga, defence counsel for Nana Agradaa, on the grounds that his client would not abscond, interfere with witnesses or evidence, and also that the amount involved was GH¢2,130.

Mr. Abariga drew the attention of the court to the fact that money doubling was an illegal activity in Ghana, and at the right time, the court would be called upon to order the arrest of the complainants as well.

The prosecuting officer, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Sylvester Asare, opposed the bail on the conviction that the Evangelist would interfere with investigations.

However, the court upheld the prayer of the defence and granted the accused bail. The prosecution was ordered to file all disclosures by the next adjourned date.

It must be noted that even if Nana is able to meet her bail conditions, another court has remanded her into police custody for two weeks as the state has pressed additional charges against her at another court.

Nana Agradaa was earlier remanded to appear before the Accra Circuit Court 9 today, but the state on Friday, October 14, arraigned her on similar charges before the Accra Circuit Court 10, presided over by Evelyn Asamoah.

Nana Agradaa is facing one count of charlatanic advertisement at both courts, but six and five charges of defrauding by false pretences respectively at Circuit Court 9 and Circuit Court 10.

She is facing a total of 13 charges, but has pleaded not guilty to all.

However, on the Friday’s episode, the court was told by the Prosecuting Officer, DSP Sylvester Asare, that on October 10, 2022, some member of the public (Complainants) reported to the police that Nana Agradaa (accused) demanded and received huge sums of monies from them under the pretext of doubling it for them.

He said upon the receipt of the complaints, the police commenced investigation into the matter which had led to the arrest of the accused.

According to him, preliminary investigations had established that on October 5, 2022, the accused advertised on Today’s TV and other social media platforms that she was capable of doubling money.

Additionally, he narrated to the court that investigations also established that the accused, through the said charlatanic adverts on the social media, invited members of the public, including the complainants, to attend an all-night service at her Heaven Way Champion International Ministry on October 7, 2022 to have their monies doubled.

He said the complainants and others members of the public came from far and near to attend the said all-night service.

DSP Asare added that the accused, during the all-night service successfully demanded and received huge sums of monies from some members of the public who attended, ” including the complainants in this matter…”

Brief Facts

According to the prosecution, the persons allegedly defrauded by Patricia Asieduaa were Yaa Bremah, a Trader from Ahenbubuanu Tafo, Kumasi; Emmanuel Kumi from Zenu Ashaiman; George Boateng from Obuasi; Grace Forson, a Hairdresser from Swedru; Mary Arthur, a Farmer from Takoradi, and Patricia Ankamah, a trader from Sunyani.

He said Nana Agradaa, Founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry at Weija, was reported to have, on October 5, 2022, advertised and invited on Today’s Television and other social media platforms that she is able to double any amount of money an individual gives her.

Thus, the accused, per the said advert invited members of the public to attend all-night service at her church for the alleged money doubling, for which the complainants and over one thousand others attended the said all night service and handed over sums of monies to her.

He added that the police commenced investigations into the matter and arrested the accused on October 9, 2022. During interrogations she admitted to the story of the complainants.

Additionally, it was established by investigations that pursuant to the said adverts by the accused on social media, the complainants came from far and near to attend the all-night service to get their monies doubled.

The accused successfully demanded and received huge sums of monies from members of the public who attended the said all-night service

Since the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with its presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, won the 2016 and 2020 General Elections, a lot has changed in terms of running the affairs of this country.

The rather slow-paced growth of the economy appreciated shortly in the first term of the government, allowing it, though under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditionalities it inherited from the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, to roll out key programmes and policies like the Free Senior High School and Planting for Food and Jobs.

The government inherited a growth rate of 3.7% in 2016. By the end of 2017, the first year of the Akufo-Addo government, the growth rate had increased by about 5 to 8.5%. It moved down to 6.3% in 2018, and went up to 6.5% in 2019.

At the end of 2020, the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the growth shrunk to 0.51%. At the end of 2021, it was 5.4%, with an estimated 3.5% for 2022.

The World Bank credits what it describes as “dynamic agriculture and services sectors” for the growth rebound from 0.5% in 2020 to 5.4% in 2021.

Reading the statistics on the growth of the economy under this administration, one would realise that the agriculture sector has been a formidable pillar, giving meaning to the planting For Food and Jobs initiative.

On the contrary, inflation figures are at their highest. The Ghana Statistical Service says inflation has reached an all-time high of 37.2 percent since September, driven primarily by food prices, and Ghanaians are feeling the heat, as the cost of living spirals out of control.

The World Bank recently ranked Ghana as the country with the highest food prices in the entire Sub-Saharan Africa in 2022.

We have not lost sight of the free fall of the local currency, the Ghana cedi, against America’s greenback. The dollar is virtually the medium of exchange for global commerce and business.

The cedi’s depreciation and inflation hikes, coupled with international markets turning their backs against the Ghanaian economy, considering what the data is telling them. It is no joke, as countries with big economies are also feeling the pinch. Number 10 Downing Street, last Friday, sacked its Chancellor of the Exchequer, Kwasi Kwarteng.

Regardless, the lights are still on, water is flowing, fuel is available albeit expensive and infrastructural developments are ongoing across Ghana. Among other things, there is the fluid negotiation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for respite.

However, many people have advocated for the President to reshuffle his ministers, nearly six years into office. The advocates argue that some appointees have outlived their usefulness and fresh brains may be needed. This argument has been shot down by the President, who has defended his appointees as being excellent.

President Akufo-Addo says he does not have any basis to sack the Finance Minister, for instance, looking at his performance in the first term. On his ongoing Ashanti Regional tour, the President further argued that the current difficulties are not the fault of Ofori-Atta.

Mr. President, we have heard you quite clearly and admire the level of confidence you have in your appointees. We can only hope that you are being given the true picture of the state of the affairs of the country.

We would have hoped that you would have also listened to the masses that voted for you, to have the first term you referenced, and who again voted for you for the second time.

The Chronicle is in no way challenging your decisions, but only attempting to remind you that the voice of the people is sometimes the voice of God.

We would also like to urge the Ghanaian populace not lose hope in the government during these challenging times, as it is working to calm the storm.

One trait of a good leader is the ability to be firm. However, whether such a trait produces positive or negative outcomes, another characteristic of a good leader is that he or she accepts responsibility for every decision made.

The Chronicle wishes you well, Mr. President!

Gold Fields launches oil palm project to create jobs for host communities

Some beneficiary farmers at the programme

Gold Fields Ghana Limited, through the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, has launched an oil palm project at Abekoase in the Prestea Hunni-Valley Municipality.

The project, which has the slogan “Grow Oil Palm, Secure Your Future,” is to create jobs for the people in the communities in which the company operates, as well as support the local economy to grow.

157 farmers, 40% of whom are females, are involved in this phase of the project, and have been trained and supported with inputs – fertiliser, weedicides, pesticides, knapsack sprayers, wellington boots and overalls.

Also, they have been supplied 23,005 high yield Tenera seedlings, which have been cultivated. The total cost of inputs and training, organised for the farmers, is estimated at GH¢822,000.

Mr. Robert Siaw, Regional Sustainability Manager, Gold Fields West Africa Operations, recalled that 17 years ago, the company, together with it host communities, collaborated with Opportunities Industrialisation Center International (OICI) to implement a five-year Sustainable Community Empowerment and Economic Development programme, dubbed SEED.

According to him, the programme focused on education, health and alternative livelihood. Under the Alternative Livelihood Programme module, the best project was the oil palm project and Gold Fields supplied Tenera seedling to selected farmers for cultivation.

“Few beneficiaries were committed to the programme and benefitted from the multiple values of the oil palm trees, including ready income when they sold their produce to the oil processing entities at Tarkwa and its environs,” he said.

He mentioned that in recent years, there had been renewed interest, and a call from community members on Gold Fields to re-introduce the oil palm project, probably after these farmers had witnessed the benefited accruing to the few committed farmers.

“Gold Fields Foundation, with its avowed commitment to help sustain livelihoods in host communities, accepted to re-introduce the Oil Palm Project, hence, the launched today,” he added.

“The importance of oil palm is not lost on all; its long-life span over 40- to 70 years on the average, coupled with the multiple values, including brooms and baskets from the branches, mushrooms even when it is decaying among others ensure long term income stems to the family.”

Albert Bonney, Director of Agriculture, said people in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality had been trained on the best management and cultural practices to follow in oil palm production for higher yield.

He commended Gold Fields for the support, and advised the beneficiary farmers to make the project successful by ensuring that ever palm tree bears the required fruits.
