King Faisal vs WAFA

Ten-man WAFA lost 0-1 to King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, 31 October 2021.

The Academy Boys played the greater part of the second half with one man down, after striker Marvin Owusu got sent off for a second bookable offence.

Striker Ibrahim Osman had the first chance of the match after three minutes but WAFA captain Konadu Yiadom put in a strong clearance.

Faisal inched closer to finding the back of the net three minutes later but Mawuli Wayo was denied by left back John Tedeku, who cleared the ball out for the first corner-kick of the match.

Before the first quarter, the visitors came close but Derrick Mensah blasted  his effort wide.

After the half hour mark, Ortiz Sam came close to giving Faisal the lead but he dragged his shot wide.

Seven minutes into the second half, WAFA were reduced to ten men after Marvin Owusu picked up a second yellow card for a poor challenge on Evans Sarfo.

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum celebrating with his players

Kumasi Asante Kotoko came from behind late in the game to secure a 3-1 over Dreams FC in a four-goal thriller at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

After a barren first half, youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, on loan from Division One side Steadfast FC, opened the scoring with a sublime solo goal just after the hour mark.

He tossed and turned, beating an army of red shirts before lifting the ball over Black Stars goalkeeper, Razak Abalora to hand Dreams FC the lead on the 63rd minute. But Kotoko showed character to fight back.

Asante Kotoko’s Salifu Mudasiru scored the equaliser with 5 minutes left on the clock.

Prosper Narteh Ogum and his charges then turned the game on its head with Isaac Oppong and Richmond Lamptey scoring two quick goals very late in the game to seal the win.
