The leader of the group, Prof. Samuel Frimpong, currently the Vice-Provost for Graduate Education, Missouri University of Science and Technology in the United States of America, stated that the gesture was a demonstration of the commitment to values and education instilled in them during their time at the institution.

He disclosed that their predecessors had made other significant contributions towards the welfare of the school, and they deemed it fit to follow their footsteps to appreciate the moulding of their lives by OWASS by the installation of the cameras, adding, the project could not measure up to what the school had offered them for life.

A leading member of the alumni, Owura Kwabena Afriyie Asamoah, presently Chief Executive Officer of N-17 Lounge in Kumasi, explained the cameras would enhance the safety and security of the students, staff and the entire campus, while at the same time serve as a powerful symbol of unity, responsibility and legacy of endurance of the group.

He admonished the students against the menace of youthful exuberance and cautioned that the cameras would check any indisciplined acts on the campus.
