Operational aspect of GAF hinges on intelligence gathering -Command Operations Officer

Colonel Henry Ansah-Akrofi, Command Operations Officer at the Headquarters of the Central Command of the Ghana Army, has stated that the operational aspect of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) hinged on intelligence gathering.

He has, therefore, charged personnel to put their ears on the ground, including threats confronting the country.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of a five days Cadre on Minor Staff duties and Basic Intelligence for the Clerks and Operational team of the Command, held at the Headquarters, Central Command, from Monday September 11 to Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Conference Room of the Command, he advised them to be mindful of how they handled information at the offices and be cautious in information management to protect the service.

The COO reminded the participants to serve as good ambassadors in their respective units, and educate their colleagues on what they had learnt.

Activities taught during the 5-day cadre on Minor Staff duties and Basic Intelligence, included Intelligence Gathering, use of social media, Service Writing, Document Security, Physical Security and Cyber Security, Report Writing, Briefing and security issues, among others.

Brigadier General Charles Agyemang-Prempeh, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Central Command, in his opening remarks disclosed that the training aimed at teaching the participants about new conventions in the Ghana Army, for them to be professional and up-to-date with modern trends of technological advancement, in line with their duties.

He reminded them that the clerks and Operations team were next when the officer was not available, and advised them to be meticulous.
