Wonder Club, Accra Great Olympics, will travel to Ekumfi Ekrawfo in the Central Region on Sunday, September 10, 2023 to take on local lads, Ekumfi United, in a special challenge match for the Nana Kwatse Cup.
The match, which climaxes the Akwanbo Festival of the Chiefs and people of the Nyimfa Division of the Ekumfi Traditional Area, is in honour of Nana Kwatse II, deceased Odikro of Ekrawfo and onetime Executive Chairman of Olympics.
According to Ebo Quansah, Chairman of the Ekrawfo Town Development Committee, the match is to honour the memory of Nana Kwatse, known in private life as Kwamena Boney.
Olympics will be defending the Nana Kwatse Cup they won last year with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Ekumfi United at the same venue.
The match, according to the Executive Chairman of Olympics, would be the final trial match for the club, before the 2023/24 Ghana Premier league begins on September 15.
