Known in private life as Ama Bafowaa, the Queenmother was enstooled on July 15, 2014 to succeed her mother, the late Queenmother, Nana Yaa Koah II.

The anniversary was under the auspices of the Odumasehene, Nana Dr. Kofi Antwi II and the royal family.

Nana Yaa Koah is described by many as a transformational and affable leader, having chalked remarkable feats to see to the development of the Odumase community, in collaboration with Nana Dr. Kofi Antwi II and the Council of Elders of Odumase.

Highlighting some of her accomplishments, Nana Koah said the initiation of puberty rites to usher adolescent girls into adulthood is a significant step to assist young girls to adapt to the complexities of becoming mature and responsible ladies.

She has been instrumental in the construction of the Osahene Kofi Okoto Community Centre, the Police Station and its barracks, the New Palace, and other developmental projects in the community.

Due to her diligence and commitment to service, Nana Koah has been honoured at the Catholic Bishops Silver Jubilee Celebration and the Centenary Celebration of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Odumase and serves on a number of committees and associations.

The Queenmother disclosed the wise counselling by the late Juabenhemaa, Nana Akosua Akyamaah III, during her confirmation, which has been the cornerstone of her reign for the past ten years.

The Odumasehene, Nana Dr. Kofi Antwi II, who doubles as the Nifahene of Asante Juaben Traditional Council, commended Nana Yaa Koah for her level of loyalty, exemplary leadership, tact, wisdom and companionship in the performance of her duties as Queenmother.

The occasion was graced by important dignitaries, including a representative of Nana Otuo Siriboe II, Omanhene of Juaben and Chairman of the Council of State, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi, MP for Asante Akim Central Constituency and the MCE for Asante Akim Central, Robert Kwakye.
