The Fifty 50 Club, an Obuasi-based Non-Governmental Organization, has donated medical equipment worth GHS45,000 to the St. Louis Catholic Hospital at Bodwesango in the Asokwa district towards the establishment of an emergency response unit.

The equipment donated included a cardiac monitor, pulse oximeter, crank beds with accessories, Ambubags, and medication trolleys. The donation is part of the Club’s 5th anniversary celebration and aims to bridge the healthcare gap in the community.
The hospital has faced the challenge of extending emergency care to its patients due to the lack of basic equipment, often forcing them to refer critical cases to distant hospitals.
According to Evans Twumasi Boateng, a Physician Assistant at the facility, the donation will help address this challenge and provide timely and quality healthcare to the community.
Jacob Edmund-Acquah, President of the Fifty 50 Club, stated that the donation was part of the Club’s mission to transform lives and communities through its initiatives.
Dr. Kwadwo Anim, Executive Director of the AGA Health Foundation and a member of the Club, described the impact as remarkable, emphasising that bridging healthcare gaps requires the collective effort of private groups like the Fifty 50 Club.
In another development, the Club has paid the school and hostel fees amounting to GH¢ 10,000 for a third-year KNUST medical student.
The Club is expected to support T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School at Fomena and break the ground for a weighing centre at Kyekyewere Health Centre soon.
