The Obuasi Area Church of Pentecost has donated food items worth GH¢30,000 to support the feeding of inmates of the Obuasi Prison. The food items include; 20 crates of eggs, four gallons of cooking oil, two bags of beans, three bags of groundnut, five bags of gari and 52 packs of sachet water.

Some of the food items on display.

Presenting the items, the Obuasi Area Head of the Church Prophet, David Kwesi Karikari Beditor, said the Pentecost Church has chosen to support Prisons by way of food, logistics and new Prison quarters, among others.

He said one of the Church’s social responsibilities is to help feed the inmates, hence the donation of the food items.

Pastor ASP James Ekow Amoah, Chaplain of the Obuasi Prisons, who received the food items on behalf of the inmates, thanked the Church for the donation.

He noted that the donation will go a long way to help in the feeding of the prisoners.

The Chaplain also called on well-wishers to donate drugs to support the treatment of sick inmates.
