A member of the Royal Soro Family at the Upper Axim Traditional Council, Obaahema Ezek Nkrumah II, has called on Nzemas to use the historic visit of the National Chief Imam to his ancestral home to unite and move Nzema forward.
“It is time for us to use the visit to unite, forge ahead as Nzemas with one common goal.”
It would be recalled that His Eminence Sheik Usman Nuhu Sharabutu visited his ancestral home, Axim, a fortnight ago, where he was honoured with a durbar of chiefs and the clergy.
The two-day visit saw His Eminence conferred with his maternal family, chiefs and the clergy, pay a visit to the only Islamic Senor High School in Kamgbunli, and also held Jummah prayers with the entire Kamgbunli community.
Obaahema Ezek Nkrumah, who was one of the members of the committee that planned the historic visit of the Chief Imam, is urging the entire Nzema community to unite and honour the Chief Imam with the values he stood for.
She said given that the Chief Imam stood for peace, unity and religious tolerance, she has advised and urged Nzemas to follow his values by avoiding acts that could draw the progress of them backward. “Let us avoid division, bickering and live in peace with each other and fight for the progress and development of Nzema.”
On the proposed Islamic University yet to be built, Obaahema Ezek Nkrumah, who is a granddaughter of the Chief Imam, proposed that the university be named after His Eminence Sheik Usman Nuhu Sharabutu.
