NPP Kade constituency inaugurates campaign team

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kade constituency, has inaugurated a formidable campaign team to mobilize votes and break the eight-year governance cycle.

The event, supervised by regional executives of the party, saw all parliamentary primary candidates, the MCE for Kwaebibrem, Seth Kwame Antwi Boasiako, Council of Elders, and former Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and now Executive Secretary of the National Labour Commission (NLC), Ofosu Asamoah in attendance.

Addressing the party faithful at the inauguration ceremony on Thursday, July 4, 2024, the MP for the area, Alexander Agyare, urged the party members to unite and champion the UP tradition, conducting door-to-door campaign to highlight the party’s achievements and secure votes.

He appealed for extra effort to secure victory, noting the constituency’s potential to deliver votes.

“It is because of the hard work you did in the 2020 general elections that we were able to improve on the votes we secured in 2016 by 2,000. I would like to urge you to put in extra efforts by working harder than before to secure victory for the elephant family. Let us go out there and tout the achievements of our party.

“We have done a lot in the constituency – all the major town roads have been fixed. We have also executed some developmental projects that are impacting positively on the lives of our people. We must tell our story”, he noted.

He said whilst the constituency was poised to do what was required of it, the regional executives must also ensure that some party members in the area are appointed to serve in government when the party retains power.

“This is the third constituency in the Eastern Region that gives the highest number of votes to the party. But after elections, none of our members are appointed to serve in government making it very difficult to resource our followers who are committed to doing the grounds work for the party. I will plead that this should be the last because the MP cannot do it alone”, he appealed.

The MCE for Kwabibrem, Seth Kwame Antwi Boasiako recalled the difficulties in opposition and urged for party unity, warning against internal conflicts.

“The NDC has no message but would rather capitalise on our mistakes and use them against us. We should beware of the kind of things we say to each other. Let us discuss what we can do to support our flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and our parliamentary candidate, Agyare. Our support will let them secure victory for the party”, he underscored.

The former MP, Ofosu Asamoah, emphasised respect and unity, encouraging members to join campaign teams and canvass for votes.

“Our victory will depend on the kind of work you will do on the grounds. Let us take the campaign from door-to-door, to room-to-room, bed-to-bed, street-to-street and ghetto-to-ghetto. Let us focus on the elephant as our winning symbol”.

The Eastern Regional Communications Director of the NPP, Evans Osei Yeboah, tasked party members to work hard, assuring them of addressing grievances when the party retains power.
