NPP delegates prefer Alan to lead in 2024 -Ex-Manhyia North MP

Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, Minister for Trade & Industry

Mr. Collins Owusu Amankwa, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North in the Ashanti Region says a survey he personally conducted indicates that the teeming grassroots delegates which was made up of both youth and women within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) want Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen to lead the party to the 2024 polls.

The former Member of Parliament revealed that at least 8 out of every ten NPP grassroots delegates interviewed preferred Alan Kyerematen to lead the party to the 2024 showdown.

Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi and follow up interview with The Chronicle about the possible successor to President Akufo-Addo, Collins Owusu said he conducted his research in Greater Accra, Ashanti Region, Brong Ahafo, Volta and Eastern Regions.

According to the former Member of Parliament, he used random sampling methodology by asking the people who are mostly delegates what they want each of the contestants to do for them and the overwhelming majority said employment creation, which will bring  cash into their pockets.  They subsequently went ahead to mention Mr. Kyerematen as the candidate they preferred to lead the NPP in 2024.

A number of research reports have been circulated by various researchers on the possible replacement for Nana Addo ahead of the 2024 main elections. Per the NPP Constitution, should the number of aspirants in the primaries exceed 5, a Super Delegates Election will take place to reduce the number to a maximum of five.
