NPP Breaking the 8 is a must -Moussa

Dr. Moussa Jabir Kebir, the Vice chairman of the Ashanti Regional NPP Council of Elders has stressed the need for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to break the 8 year jinx in Ghana politics.

He noted that the December 2024 election is the most decisive election in Ghana and NPP’s quest to ‘break the 8’ makes it more crucial.

Addressing party executives and campaign team members at Mankranso, as part of assessment exercise of the party’s preparations for the elections by the Council of Elders, Dr. Moussa advised the constituency campaign team to step up electioneering campaign to ensure that the NPP is retained in power.

He said since 1992, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the NPP have alternately assumed office in two terms.

The Council of Elders chairman said following the trend, it is assumed it is the turn of the NDC, but the NPP has to defy this convention in order to protect its legacies particularly the free SHS policy.

According to him, in the advanced countries, governments which stay in power for a longer period initiate and provide better social interventions for the benefit of the citizenry

He advised the party’s campaign machinery to double up their efforts in unity to avoid post primary factionalism and maintain the Ahafo Ano South West parliamentary seat for the party.

He commended the parliamentary candidate, Mr. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah for his singular efforts to protect the Ahafo Ano South West parliamentary seat, which he described as a preserve of the NPP.

The PC assured that the NPP would secure about 70% of votes for the party in the parliamentary and presidential elections.

Meanwhile, PC Dapaah has constructed four teacher’s quarters for Kramokrom, near Kunsu, Ohiapae, near Barniekrom, Wioso Nyamebekyere and Mmiawano communities.

He has also rehabilitated the 4 kilometre Mpasaaso-Nyamebekyere road and provided culverts for the Domeabra-Nyamebekyere road to link up other communities in the constituency.

The PC has also constructed a 3-unit classroom block for the Mankranso Methodist primary school from his own resources.
