Nollywood director, Nosa Rex has taken to social media to apologise to Ghanaians for his recent outburst over a television station pirating his movie.
According to Nosa, his movie, ‘Prince of Peace’ was illegally broadcasted by a Ghanaian TV channel. In a video posted on his social media platforms on August 12, 2025, Nova criticised Ghanaians about the issue.
He referred to Ghanaians as “stupid” and warned that piracy will lead the country’s entertainment sector to continue to deteriorate.
The filmmaker’s comments went viral and became topic for discussion in some entertainment shows in Ghana.
After the reactions from Ghanaians, Nosa Rex in a post on August 13, 2025, clarified his comments and apologise.
He explained that his harsh words were not aimed at the people of Ghana as a whole, but specifically at the television channels involved in piracy.
“I see that so many people are misinterpreting and misunderstanding the video. The insult in that video was directed to the TV stations. I mean, why would I insult the entire Ghana? It doesn’t even make sense. I’m looking forward to come and see you people. You know what that means,” he said.
Nosa stated that he was angry because he was frustrated with the problem of piracy. He maintained that it demonstrates a lack of regard for skill and diligence when someone’s creative work is stolen and exploited without their consent.
