NLA must stop infiltration of private Individuals into Lottery Industry -Otumfuo

His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has tasked Alhaji Mohammed Abdul Salam, Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), to clamp down on individuals who infiltrate in the lottery industry and thus usurp the rights of NLA to raise the much-needed revenue for national development.

The Asantehene urged the Director-General to put in place pragmatic measures to grow the industry and enable it to contribute its quota to national development.

The Asantehene’s directive came when Alhaji Salam paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace as part of his tour of the 15 operational centers across Ghana.

The Director-General welcomed the Asantehene’s counsel and promised to work with the management and staff of NLA to ensure that the organisation meets its revenue targets.

He mentioned that challenges facing NLA comprises encroachment by Unlicensed Operators  including “Banker to Banker” illegal operators in the Ashanti region and across the country.

The Director- General also revealed that Outdated Equipment and obsolete machines ought to be replaced to improve NLA’s operations. He said NLA’s office in the region needed to be renovated to enable staff give off their best in shaping and transforming NLA’s policies and allocating resources effectively.

Alhaji Salam assured the staff that their inputs would be valuable in informing the organization’s plans and decision-making processes.
