Nkawie-Kuma Nkosuohene bails patients at Nkawie/Toase Gov’t Hospital

Nana Asare Bediatuo I, Nkosuohene of Nkawie-Kuma in the Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti region, has paid the hospital bills for about 24 patients, who could not afford their bills for medical treatment.

He assured the hospital management to visit the facility to foot the bills of mothers who gave birth at the facility.

The chief, in partnership with Ambitious Ladies, also supported about 24 youth in apprenticeship in Seamstress and Hairdressing, with Start-up kits and undisclosed amounts of money.

Nana Bediatuo disclosed that the initiative was geared towards supporting the needy and less privileged in the Nkawie, Toase and surrounding communities was to give them some relief in earning decent livelihood.

According to him, the initiative would continue to contribute its quota to the government’s efforts in reducing unemployment especially among the youth in the area.

Mr. Ben Kwabena Sintim, the Administrator at the Nkawie/Toase government hospital, on behalf of Dr. Roberto Frank Fiifi, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, expressed their profound gratitude to Nana Bediatuo for the kind gesture to the beneficiaries.

According to him, most of the patients often absconded with their bills and that this usually made it difficult for the authority to account to Auditors.

He said the administration has often resorted to social welfare for support to feed the detainees until they settle their bills in full.
