Mr. Osman Abdullah Nabali, Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that, the party’s quest to win the 2024 General Elections and beyond needed somebody like the former Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, to partner former President Mahama, flagbearer, to consolidate votes to win the impending elections.
According to him, the youth of the party were thinking beyond winning the 2024 elections, and had observed that the former Chief of Staff would be the best bet to partner their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
He told the media that though Mr. Julius Debrah had allegedly stated that he was not interested in the running mate position, he said the statement was misconstrued by those he described as having an agenda beyond 2024.
He said Mr. Debrah was urging those who were calling on the flagbearer to choose him to give the flagbearer free hands to decide himself as to who would partner him.
The Youth Organiser noted that such a statement did not mean the man was not interested in the running mate job as was being peddled about, and for that matter they must desist from such misinformation just to champion their own parochial political interests.
Mr. Nabila disclosed that the party could not afford not to win the 2024 General Elections for the youth in the NDC, hence needed somebody like Julius Debrah, who he described as a grassroots person, approachable and accessible at every given time to ensure that the party consolidated the much needed votes to make it happen.
