NDC execs implicated in the registration of minors

The Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in Mpohor, Bernard Afful has been arrested for registering minors during the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

He was apprehended on May 9, 2024, together with Roger Miller, proprietor of Voice of Christ Preparatory School, for their involvement in the crime.

Subsequent investigations uncovered five voter ID cards suspected to belong to underage students in the possession of Miller.

Their cover was blown upon a tip-off to the police when the proprietor attempted to register his 16-year-old son and other school colleagues.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to orchestrating the registration of these students. As investigations continue, the suspects are scheduled to be arraigned before the courts on Friday, May 10.

The Electoral Commission has commenced the limited voter registration exercise for first-time voters and individuals who do not have a voter card.
