Mrs Alma Nana Pokua Opoku Prempeh, wife of the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has met with Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Kumasi and presented an undisclosed amount of money, NPP T-shirts and a pack of lunch for each person.
According to Mrs. Opoku Prempeh, NPP is keen in ensuring that the vocational skills of some members of the PWDs do not go waste.
She indicated that the NPP was working hand in hand with executives of PWDs, noting that 50 percent of Dr. Bawumia’s policies are about PWDs.
Mrs. Opoku Prempeh urged them to vote for Dr. Bawumia, so that these policies can be implemented.
Samuel Pyne, Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) disclosed that the NPP government had given sustained start-up packages to PWDs to support them, and urged them to vote for Dr. Bawumia.
Deputy Minister of Education, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, who doubles as MP for Kwadaso, urged the PWDs to give Dr. Bawumia the mandate to enable him address their needs and burdens.
Ms. Rita Talata Asobayire, 2nd NPP National Vice Chairperson, stressed the need for PWDs to vote for the NPP, which factored PWDs in the constitution.
Ms. Talata indicated that when the NPP retains power, a certain percent of “School Uniform Contracts” will be allocated to PWDs.
In attendance were Dr. Kwasi Kyei, National Coordinator, PWDs and Freda Prempeh, MP for Tano North constituency.
