The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asunafo North Constituency also Deputy Minister for Youths and Sports, Evans Opoku Bobbie, has commissioned a modern V.I.P Ward at the Goaso Municipal Hospital in the Asunafo North Municipality in the Ahafo Region.
The ward, which cost GH¢400,000, is equipped with 10 rooms that feature massaging beds, televisions, kitchen, toilet and bath facilities.
Addressing the commissioning ceremony, Opoku Bobbie expressed his satisfaction with the infrastructure and medical centers in the municipality, rating them at 75 to 80 percent quality.
He said that several facilities were being built in various communities and would be commissioned soon to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
The MP gave the assurance that the government was committed to improving the lives of the people by developing all sectors of the economy.
Opoku Bobbie commended management of the hospital for improving healthcare delivery in the Asunafo North Municipality, and urged them to prioritise maintenance to ensure the longevity of the newly-commissioned ward.
The Asunafo North Municipal Chief Executive, Osei Yaw Boahen, commended the Member of Parliament for his efforts, and highlighted the achievements made in providing quality healthcare services in the area.
“I wish to commend the Member of Parliament for funding the construction of the VIP Ward and other infrastructure,” he said.
The Ahafo Regional Health Director, Dr. Boakye Boateng, commended the staff of the hospital for delivering excellent healthcare services to the people.
He urged them to maintain their professional standards to justify the government’s investment in the health sector.
The Health Director also appreciated the MP for assisting the hospital with the VIP Ward, and appealed to him and other politicians to notify the Regional Health Directorate about health projects they were embarking upon in the various communities within the region.
Nana Appiah Kubi, speaking on behalf of the Goasomanhene, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive for their commitment to improving the healthcare system in the municipality.
“The chiefs and elders would like to commend the efforts by the MP and MCE at improving healthcare delivery in the municipality,” he said.
