The Melcom mall has outdoored a new franchise to help promote and drive international tourism traffic into the country at Spintex.
The new Franchise is a Lebanese restaurant, called “Hallab Gourmet 1881”, with the focus on hand crafted high quality sweets and food in a modern setting and at competitive prices.
The Melcom Group of Companies has currently 59 Melcom stores, 5 Melcom Mini’s, 12 Cash ‘n’ Carry’s and 12 Pizza Huts.
Speaking to the media at a short ceremony to outdoor the new restaurant (franchise), the Group Director Of Communications, Godwin Avenorgbo, said the New Hallab Gourmet 1881, originating from the ancestral Lebanese city Tripoli, with its 140-year-old heritage has been widely recognised internationally, as the leading brand for Lebanese premium sweets.
According to him, the Melcom Mall is the largest single retail store not only in Ghana, but in the West Africa sub-region.
“Melcom is now pleased to add a new and exciting experience to our hospitality business by adding an exciting experience to our services for the benefit of everyone who desires quality and variety,“ Mr. Avenorgbo stated.
He continued that, without doubt, Melcom has become the game changer in the retail space in Ghana and beyond, chalking success in service delivery.
He also stated that Melcolm will continue to enhance its customer’s expectations to maintain their loyalty and will put in place well-structured food safety and quality management systems, which comply with not only the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) regulations but international standards.
He also called on all individuals to frequently come and enjoy their world-class premium menu offerings.
The Deputy Minister for Tourism Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Mr Mark Okraku-Mantey, a special guest, in his short address stated that the private sector plays a very important role in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Ghana.
He continued that the Lebanese restaurant is going to help in the agenda to sell to foreign and internal customers.
The Minister used the opportunity to thank the management of Melcom for its hard work over the years and urged the establishment to help promote tourism in the country.
