Kwadwo Amoako’s equaliser at the death of the first half saved Medeama from what would have been their fifth defeat this season, however, Medeama battled back before half time to cancel Karela’s goal at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park at Anyinase.
Karela started the game on good note and capitalised on the lackadaisical defending by the Medeama back-line, as Isaac Donkor scored the opener in the 24th minute with the ball gliding through the fingers of Ivorian-born Boris Mandjui.
Karela, who had the home crowd firmly behind them and were on the hunt for their fourth win after eight outings, dazzled in both halves, but were unable to capitalise on their chances as the Medeama defense held them solidly in check for 90 minutes.
Karela have moved to the thirteenth spot as they’ve raked in eleven points, while Medeama climbed up eleventh on eleven points, eight points behind leaders, Aduana Stars.
