Institutions in Ghana’s Supply Chain Service industry are set to benefit from a generous donation from the McDan Group of Companies, led by its Chairman, Dr. Daniel McKorley.
The McDan group procured the books, providing the opportunity for the supply chain fraternity, selected government departments, and management and business schools in Ghana to get free copies.
Dr. Daniel McKorley, the Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies, has been acknowledged by several institutions for his contribution to skills development in Ghana.
“The Compendium of Supply Chain Management Terms” compiled by Professor Douglas Boateng was first published in 2014 with support from Sasol, one of the world’s largest chemical companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in South Africa and the New York Stock.
To date, over 70,000 copies have been distributed in Ghana, Africa and the rest of the world.
Under the partnership, a series of books will also be published with the aim of developing the requisite skills in Africa.
“Without supply chain management understanding, we are going nowhere, hence my desire to contribute towards supply chain knowledge development in Ghana and the rest of the continent”, Dr. Mckorley said.
Commenting on the Group’s socially responsible initiative, Dr. McKorley said “A deeper understanding of the subject matter will have positive implications on the country’s quest for industrialisation, supply, and value chain improvements.”
A source close to the donor said the donation is ongoing and that any group that may be interested in the book could contact Miss Linda Maku Tetteh of the McDan group at +233 55 9671046 for consideration and supply.
