The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North, Akwasi Konadu, has made a donation of GHC15,000 and 100 bags of cement to Wesley College (WESCO) Practice Primary and Wesley College of Education respectively.

The donations are meant to support the schools’ effort to improve and rehabilitate its infrastructure, specifically the staff room, office and storeroom and create a more conducive environment for “teaching and learning”.

Akwasi Konadu told The Chronicle that the donation would facilitate the rehabilitation of the school’s infrastructure.

He mentioned that the re-roofing of schools, such as Buokro M/A, which were destroyed by recent rainstorm has commenced and that distribution of furniture to various basic schools in the constituency would soon begin.

According to the MP, most of the schools had inadequate furniture and pledged to provide the schools with teaching and learning resources.

Konadu also announced the continuation of abandoned school projects at Dote and Buokrom for close to 15 years.

Madam Asantewaa, Headmistress of WESCO Practice Primary B, thanked the Member of Parliament for his kind gesture and pleaded for more corporate bodies and Philanthropists to also come to their aid.
