Dr. Samuel Sarpong, the National First Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene that the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, would be guided by the Asantehene’s blueprint documentation for the development of Ashanti region.
The former Mayor of Kumasi and once the Ashanti Regional Minister disclosed that the President-Elect has kept a copy of the document of Asantehene and has promised to implement it judiciously, for the benefit of the residents.
Dr. Samuel Sarpong, who attended the last Akwasidae observation of the year at the Manhyia Palace on Sunday, which coincided with the sweet electoral victory of NDC, conveyed the appreciation of the President-elect, John Mahama,to the Asantehene for his good counsel and guidance offered him during his last visit to Manhyia Palace, on the eve of the election.
Dr. Sarpong stated emphatically that the guidance and blessings of Otumfuo led to NDC’s victory on Saturday December 7, 2024.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II commended Dr. Sarpong and wished the NDC party and the leaders well.
He pleaded that the NDC governs with compassion and ensure that the citizenry benefit from good policies and programmes by the new government.
With Dr Sarpong at the Akwasidae ceremony were Dr. Andy Okrah, former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister and Kwasi Ofori Agyemang Boadi, a former MCE for Obuasi, as well as Appiah Stadium, a party fanatic.
