Mr. Precious Agbenya, a political activist and member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Communication Team, has stated that, the victory that awaited the party’s flagbearer in the 2024 General Elections must be a project for the Ghanaian youth.
According to him, the youth were suffering, to the extent that one could not ask a woman’s hand in marriage, because of the economic hardship created by the Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
He noted during a meeting with the media that the youth, who would take over the leadership mantle in future, had lost with the belief that there was no future for them, as their hopes keep fading day in and day out, because of the mismanagement of the economy by selfish and corrupt political leaders.
He stated that irrespective of one’s political affiliation, it was time the youth rose up and campaigned vigorously for the former President, John Mahama, to ensure that victory in the 2024 Elections was a mere formality to rescue the country and restore hope for them.
Mr. Agbenya said considering the performance of the ex-President, from 2012 to 2016, in terms of physical infrastructure, and the investment his government made in the agricultural sector, through free fertilisers for farmers, was a clear indication that, given the chance, he would do far better than the current government.
He observed that, there was nothing working in the country in all sectors of the economy, and that justice, peace and security, that were the backbone of every strong economy, had been compromised by the present administration.
The political activist, therefore, appealed to the youth to join the campaign to ensure that, the former President, described as a nation builder, was back in office to help rebuild Ghana.
