President John Dramani Mahama, in the company of some Ministers of State and Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as well as the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene and other Regional Executives on Saturday joined Adansiman to honour the late Samuel Aboagye, with a befitting funeral at Boete Park, in the Obuasi East Municipal of Ashanti.

Samuel Aboagye was one of the eight persons who died in a helicopter clash at Sikaman in Adansi on August 6, 2025.
The traditional drummers were on display, together with other drummers from Northern Ghana, when the President set foot at the funeral grounds.

President Mahama took time to greet Okofo Kwabena Bonsu, Dompoasehene and other Chiefs, who had already been seated and was seen in a handshake with Samuel Aboagye’s mother, as he consoled her.
After about an hour’s stay at the funeral grounds, the President’s entourage asked permission to leave for Kumasi to attend the final funeral rites of the late Mr. Samuel Sarpong, also one of the helicopter victims at Jauben.

Some of the mourners who spoke to The Chronicle described Samuel Aboagye as a humble person.
The Chairman of Obuasi Branch of Artisanal Small Scale Miners Association, Mr. Kofi Adams, described Samuel Aboagye as a man of integrity and someone who was always rooting for jobs for the youth.
