Lydia Forson’s tweet inspired ‘Effiakuma Love’ song – Kofi Kinaata

Multiple award-winning Artiste, Kofi Kinaata has revealed the inspiration behind his new release, ‘Effiakuma Love.’

According to the Highlife Artiste who surprised Ghanaians by releasing a Reggae love song, the song which is receiving a lot of airplays across Ghana was inspired by Actress Lydia Forson who tweeted at him, requesting him to compose a song about Fante women.

Five years after the request from Lydia Forson, Kofi Kinaata finally heeded to it, describing the said woman in the song.

In a recent tweet reminding Ghanaians about her five-year-old request, Lydia Forson said; “Remember in 2018 when I asked@KinaataGhto do a song about a sexy Fante woman?! Well, he DID!!!!!!!! Omg. And I absolutely love it. Let’s see if you’ll guess the part that describes me.”

Confirming this on Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown, Kofi Kinaata said “Her (Lydia Forson) tweet inspired this song but I had to flesh it with details.” He also mentioned that Lydia Forson is an online friend and they only met in a plane enroute South Africa.

“Coincidentally, we were on the same flight when I was on my way to South Africa to shoot the video of ‘Effiakuma Love.’ We spoke on the flight.” Asking why the Actress was not featured in the video, the ‘Susuka’ crooner said “this very video was an afterthought, I was in South Africa to record and I was told the studio will be available in the next two days.

I went with camera men and video director so it was only prudent that we do something within the two days and the video of ‘Effiakuma love’ was shot to make up for the days” Kofi Kinaata noted.

‘Effiakuma Love’ is one of the songs on an Extended Play (EP) by the Artiste which is yet to be released.
