Lord Kenya calling me thief was painful –Okraku-Mantey

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture who is a veteran music producer and entertainment personality, Mark Okraku-Mantey has shared personal reflections about his relationship with former hiplife artiste-turned-pastor, Lord Kenya.

Mr. Okraku-Mantey revealed that his bond with Lord Kenya was once like that of brothers, sharing a room and close moments together. However, their relationship took a hit when Lord Kenya accused him of theft.

“One that did something that pained me was Lord Kenya. I took him like a brother. We were sleeping in the same room. He apologised to me, so I don’t wanna talk about it. He calling me a thief and everything and people would be asking me in public about it,” he recounted.

Nonetheless, Mark also mentioned that despite his differences with another late music legend, DaasebreGyamena, the latter still acknowledged him.

However, he expressed disappointment that Lord Kenya did not show similar regard, particularly during significant moments in their career, such as the programming of the hit song Sika Baa.

Mr Okraku-Mantey concluded by noting that Lord Kenya had since apologised for his actions, and he has chosen to let go of the incident.
