Patson Daka scored his first FA Cup goal to help Leicester City ease past League Two side Cheltenham Town and into the fourth round.
The Zambia striker joined the Foxes after the club won the competition in 2021, and it has taken him eight appearances across five campaigns to open his account in the cup.
He found the bottom corner for Leicester’s opener against the fourth-tier Robins before Stephy Mavididi made it two with a fine solo effort just before the break.
A chipped attempt from Jordan Thomas demanded the intervention of Foxes goalkeeper Asmir Begovic early in the second half but the Championship club kept control to see out a comfortable win against a side 54 places below them in the English football pyramid.
Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes
“It was a professional performance. We came here with the target of going through and we managed to do it.
“Credit to Cheltenham because they managed to make it not easy for us. It was important for us to make it back-to-back wins and to go through and keep a clean sheet. They are some positives for us to build on.”
