Kumasi Pastor cautions Kennedy Agyapong to be wary of campaigning for Bawumia

Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkordie, the Head Pastor of the Open Arms Ministry in Kumasi, is asking Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central MP, to recuse himself from the campaign tours of the Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, because his (MP) presence on Dr. Bawumia’s campaign platforms rather irritates most supporters, anytime he mounts the stage to campaign for Dr. Bawumia.

Referencing lots of disparaging comments by the Assin Central MP against the Vice President and his own party (the NPP) during the flagbearer contest, Apostle Nkansah-Sarkodie, also known as Saint Sark, said Kennedy Agyapong joining Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team is rather a disservice because he is irritating and annoying party folks.

Addressing journalists last Friday at his church, Saint Sark said some of the youth, who do not know him (Saint Sark) very well, say lots of negative things about him on social media and on radio, but for the records his critique on bad governance started way back in 1989 under the PNDC government, headed by the late President J.J. Rawlings.

He said Kennedy Agyapong’s claim that he rejected US$800 million that he was offered to back out of the flagbearer contest among other allegations, if they were factual, endeared him to his followers and that his sudden u-turn to join those he vehemently criticised would damage his political future and credibility.

Saint Sark emphasised that Kennedy Agyapong would not need the NPP as a party to win an election in the country, because he has a lot of followers, including even non party members who believe in him for his vociferous stance for patriotism, honesty and development.

He disagreed with the MP’s explanation that he was persuaded by some esteemed members of the party to join the Vice President’s campaign team, otherwise he (Kennedy) will not be supported when it comes to his tenure to lead the NPP.

He added that it is flawed to argue that even if that assertion was true, then the MP’s motives were for “self-interest or parochial considerations” and not for the interest of his followers.

He said he is also aware of some international secret societies working tirelessly to infiltrate into the affairs of state of the country through the sponsorship of some political groups and movements as bait to introducing or popularise their practices in the country and cautioned those political groups to be wary of the implications and “the day of judgment”.
