It was an eyesore when The Chronicle visited the Sanitation Department of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
The roof of the garage had been ripped off, leaving the place at the mercy of the weather. The garage is also in a horrible state.
Speaking to a worker at the sanitation department of the assembly on condition of anonymity, he disclosed to this reporter that the roof of the garage was destroyed about six year ago, after a heavy downpour.
He noted that the situation wouldn’t have been bad as it is today, if the authorities had paid attention to it.
When the Public Relations Officer of the KMA, Madam Henrietta Afia Konadu was contacted, she said her outfit was aware of the situation and that the place would soon be renovated.
“Management has taken notice and the Waste Management Technical section (roofing) is going through procurement process and it would be repaired when the process is complete,” she stated.
