King Faisal failed to return to winning ways after sharing the spoils with Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League match-week 28 on Wednesday afternoon.
Bechem United maintained their spot in the top-four of the Ghana Premier League table after holding King Faisal to a 0-0 draw at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
King Faisal commenced the game with intense pressure with the hope of getting the opener in the early minutes. Coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu’s side came close to opening the score sheet through a free-kick effected by Godfred Asiamah, but he was denied by the woodwork in the 17th minute. Five minutes later, Benjamin Bature got a golden opportunity to put King Faisal ahead but he fired wide.
Bechem United gained possession to dominate the game in the last ten minutes when Benjamin Asiedu had lots of work to do in the sticks for the host.
Lanky attacker Emmanuel Avornyo and Clinton Duodo combined to score, but their efforts couldn’t earn them a name on the score sheet, as the first half ended in a scoreless draw.
The second half looked balanced with the two teams possessing the ball in the middle of the turf and entertaining the fans. King Faisal enjoyed majority of possession but they were unlucky to secure all the needed points.
