Kessben Foundation donates GH¢54k equipment to Suntreso Hospital

The Kessben Outreach Foundation has donated medical equipment worth GH¢54,000 to the Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) of the Suntreso Government Hospital in Kumasi.

The items included two Cardiotocography machines, two Digital Baby Scales, a LED Digital/Satelite Television and packs of bottled water.

The primary function of the Cardiotocography machines is to monitor the fetal heartbeat and uterine contractions during pregnancy and labour.

The General Manager of the Foundation, Sammy Adu Boakye, during the presentation last Friday, disclosed that a sympathiser contacted the Foundation two months ago and complained about some challenges, including lack of a proper Cardiotocography machine, facing the Mother and Baby Unit of the hospital.

Mr. Adu Boakye said the Foundation, on learning about the situation, could not sit unconcerned, hence, the donation in direct response to the said challenges faced by the Mother and Baby Unit of the hospital.

The Administrator of the hospital, Mr. Alex Abugri, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Kessben Outreach Foundation for the donation.

He noted that the hospital apparently had been using rubber to manually monitor fetal heartbeat which was quite risky for pregnant women with contradictions.
