Speaking in an interview with CAF Media in the wake of Ghana’s exit from the CAF AFCON Under 20 Championship at the quarterfinal stage, Hakim is looking to take the next step in his career by distinguishing himself from his brother.
“He-Kamaldeen- set the standard, but I want to go higher. We all played football in the compound, in the streets-Kamaldeen always pushed me. I admire what Kamal has achieved, but I want to be known for my own journey” Hakim Sulemana stated.
Hakim Sulemana won two Man of the Match Awards in the tournament against D.R. Congo and Egypt. He scored a late penalty to send the game against Egypt to extra time but Ghana lost 5-4 in the penalty shootout to miss out on making it to the semifinals and automatically qualifying to the 2025 Under 20 World Cup.
