The ‘PensdownHoopFest Reloaded,’organised by musician and social entrepreneur Julian Baisie, known as Too Deep (TDIGG)transformed Kasoa’s Masher Street Hoopers’ Arena into a vibrant hub of youth empowerment on July 12, 2025.

What began as a basketball tournament evolved into a full celebration of creativity, culture, and purpose. From fast-paced basketball games to dance battles and PlayStation gaming stations, the event provided youth with a stage to express themselves and to rewrite the narrative of their community.

“Crime doesn’t flourish where community thrives. Violence doesn’t take root where dreams are nurtured,” Julian remarked. His goal was simple: give young people platforms, not pity.

Ten dance groups wowed the crowd with storytelling through movement. Gamers connected over shared wins, while young athletes demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and passion. For Julian, whose artistry is rooted in hip hop’s culture of authenticity, this was more than entertainment—it was social transformation.

“Our young people don’t need saving; they need stages, they need someone to believe their brilliance is worth celebrating,” he said adding that, “this is my small way of giving to Kasoa.”

Julian called on leaders, creatives, and community members to invest in such youth-centered initiatives. His model proves that consistent investment in talent, space, and opportunity creates safer, stronger, and more hopeful communities.
