The Management and Staff of Juaben Rural Bank embarked on a Tree planting exercise as part of activities to mark its 40th anniversary as a financial institution.
Mr. Augustine Awere Damoah, Chief Executive Officer of the Bank explained that exercise was to enhance the Bank’s commitment to plant a target of 40,000 trees on the principal streets of Juaben and its environs to commemorate the 40th anniversary celebration of its founding.
He said the Juaben Rural Bank was initiated by Nana Otuo Siriboe II, the Chief of Juaben in the Ashanti region to enhance the economic growth in the town and its nearby communities.
He disclosed that the Bank was not only dealing in financing, but the holistic human welfare and improvement of the standard of living and healthcare.
Nana Yaw Owusu, Juabenhene Apagyahene, who represented Nana Otuo Siriboe II, Chief of Juaben, urged other chiefs to help mobilise the youth in tree planting exercise to save the environment from the adverse effects of the climate change, which he said was affecting lives of all living things and human beings.
He noted that it was the wish of the traditional authorities of Juaben to make the traditional area, especially Juaben Township, a ‘garden city’ and urged everyone to be committed in achieving the set goal.
