An Interim Management Committee (IMC) constituted by an Accra High Court to oversee the management of Adamus Resources Limited, has been prevented from taking over the firm.
A police detachment and some private security personnel prevented the IMC, led by Mr. Isaac Ackun, together with legal officers, from entering Adamus Resources Limited, which is situated at TelekuBokazo, in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
Responding to the issue in an interview with journalists, Mr. Ackun stated that the situationat Adamus Resources Limited and its management had escalated into a complex legal and security matter, involving several parties with conflicting interests.
He explained that the IMC, which was appointed by an Accra High Court ruling on July 27, 2023, visited Adamus Resources Limited’s TelekuBokazo Mines, accompanied by newly recruited security personnel to secure the company’s operations.
He said the committee was mandated to oversee the company’s affairs, particularly as it had been embroiled in disputes concerning its ownership and management.
Mr. Ackun said: “The dispute revolves around Angela List, a purported Director of the Company, and Moses/ Kobina Bosompim, who are accused of attempting to unlawfully transfer 90 per cent of the shares in Adamus Resources Pty Limited (Adamus Australia) to Nguvu Mining Ltd through a questionable share transfer agreement.
“This move occurred during ongoing legal proceedings in Australia regarding Angela List’s alleged unlawful control over Adamus Australia. A case was filed in the High Court of Ghana, challenging the legitimacy of this share transfer.”
According to him, despite the efforts by the IMC to visit the company’s offices and Mines earlier this year, the group had been blocked by a police intervention.
Mar Ackun stated: “The IMC is facing significant opposition, both from local police and political figures, while trying to exercise its legal mandate to oversee and secure the operations of Adamus Resources Ltd. The outcome of this dispute will likely depend on the results of ongoing investigations and legal proceedings.”
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dodzie Hlodzie, the Esiama Divisional Police Commander, stated that the IMC had ignored a police advice to secure a court directive to enable them to assist the committee to execute their mandate, hence, the idea behind stopping the IMC from taking over the site.
