The newly elected President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons has revealed that, his administration intends to collaborate more with the media for successful publicity of his works.
Bessa Simons who believes in the power of the media says what he needs now is collaboration with the media for effective communication of the plans and achievements, something which has not been previously effected.
“We don’t have a lot of money to pay for the publicity but we believe in collaboration. We believe that with effective collaboration, members and everyone will see our good works and also appreciate what we are doing and have done” Mr. Simons said in an interview on Skyy Power FM’s ‘OC Showbiz Review’ over the weekend.
According to the ‘Belebe’ hitmaker, his vision for MUSIGA fell on the hearts of the members, resulting in overwhelming votes for his presidency.
In elections held across the country on Tuesday, October 10 under the supervision of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Bessa Simons beat his contender, Ras Caleb, to emerge the winner.
Bessa Simons polled a total of 324 votes as against his challenger’s 66.
The elections have been long in coming as the Union has been hit with several lawsuits, which have secured injunctions on the exercise.
Since the term of Bice Osei Kuffuor, popularly known as Obour, ended, the Union has been without a substantive President.
