Spyro has disclosed that he got a bank loan to pay for his song with Mayorkun and Davido.
In 2018, Spyro who was then an up-and-coming musician collaborated with Mayorkun and Davido on the tune ‘Funke’ but the song flopped much to his huge disappointment.
The Nigerian singer whose real name is Oludipe Oluwasanmi David said in a recent interview with Cool FM that he had a three-year struggle to pay back the loan.
The singer of “Who’s Your Guy” claimed that the collaboration propelled him into the public eye, but that he soon lost it after the song’s first momentum.
Spyro said; “When I dropped ‘Funke’ and the song popped. I had David [Davido], and I had Mayorkun on the song. And after dropping ‘Funke’ and my career still went down, I’m like, ‘Oh! Am I ever gonna rise again?’
“I popped but I just came down because there was no structure. There was nothing. I took a loan from the bank to finance that particular record while I was still signed to Upfront & Personal.
When that period passed, I now had to start paying for the loan. That was really difficult because I paid for like three years.”
Spyro revealed on his Instagram page that he needs to cease talking to Tiwa Savage on the phone because the more they talk, the more he falls in love with her.
Relatedly, Spyro was in the news recently when he mentioned that Tiwa Savage has a sweet demeanour and he falls in love with her every time they speak. Spyro also express appreciation that his older colleague jumped on the remix of his new song. He posted thus;
YO GUYS, TIWA IS SUCH AN AMAZING SOUL. SUPER GLAD I CHOSE HER FOR MY REMIX. I ACTUALLY THINK I NEED TO STOP TALKING TO HER ON PHONE, THE MORE WE TALK THE MORE I FALL FOR HER. MY GUYEST GUY IS TIWA.
