Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has talked about the mindset he has had as he enjoys a brilliant start to the 2025-2026 season.

The 25 year old Black Stars player who plays for AFC Bournemouth, has nine goal contributions in 11 games in all competitions- six goals and three assists.

His brilliant form has aided Bournemouth’s rise to fourth place in the English Premier League standings at the time of writing.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Semenyo revealed that he needs to get better at timing his runs to the back post to increase his goal count and talked about his mindset stating,

“It’s just my mentality. I have to be resilient, I always have to work harder than the next person.”

“I think I’ve always had that so it gives me that extra grit, extra bite. My mindset is just kill, kill, kill.”

Meanwhile, Semenyo says getting better at scoring more goals from the back post is what he needs to work on to take his game to the next level.

He said this in an interview with Sky Sports as the Black Stars player continues to impress at AFC Bournemouth who rank fourth in the EPL standings at the time of writing.

The 25 year old has six goals and three assists in 11 games in all competitions but believes that perfecting his runs to the back post would get him to score more goals.

“For me, it’s making the back post…[Mohamed] Salah-like, Brennan Johnson-like always in the right place at the right time. I like scoring my goals outside the box, dribbling in the box and finishing but you can get extra five, six goals playing at the back post.”

“I am working on that this year and hopefully I can get as many as I can. Just anticipating a little bit more for me” Semenyo said.

Semenyo is expected to play for Ghana’s Black Stars in friendly games against Japan and South Korea on November 14 and 18 respectively.
