The Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Richard Divine Bosson has commended the people in the area for collaborating with the Assembly to ensure successful implementation of development projects.
The existence of peace in the municipality, according to the MCE, had also contributed to the successful execution of development projects. He has promised to continue with more development projects, especially in the road sector this year.
Speaking in an interview with The Chronicle, Mr Bosson said his greatest joy as the MCE for the past one year was the support he enjoyed from central government, which enabled him to meet the development aspirations of the people.
Mr Bosson explained that, the Assembly, in collaboration with stakeholders, identified key development needs of the people and the central government also made available funds, which was used for the execution of the targeted projects.
He mentioned the ongoing construction of an ultramodern office complex for the Ho Municipal Assembly, which is expected to be completed in August this year as one of the projects the government had fully supported.
Upon completion, the office complex project, which is being executed by Construction Ambassadors, will house all the decentralised departments of the assembly.
He disclosed that the Municipal Assembly had also been given GHC18 million to add more facilities to the existing Ho central market.
Mr Bosson said as the Assembly aspired to obtain metropolitan status, a new office for the MCE and the Coordinating Director was built and was in use, awaiting the completion of the permanent office complex.
According to him, the Assembly would fence the Ho central market to improve on general security in the market and also ensure that economic activities were conducted in an atmosphere devoid of fear of criminal attacks.
Mr Bosson also pointed out that the Municipality had benefited from the Ghana Education Trust fund (GET fund), which helped in providing additional infrastructure at Mawuli Senior High School (SHS), OLA SHS and Mawuko Girls SHS.
These projects, he told The Chronicle, have helped in addressing the schools’ infrastructure problems.
The Assembly, the MCE said, had taken initiatives to improve basic healthcare, by building CHPS Compound at strategic areas in the municipality.
