The Federal Government has directed the vice-chancellors of universities to re-open schools and allow students to resume lectures.
The Guardian reports that the National Industrial Court (NIC), Abuja on Wednesday ordered the lecturers to call off their seven-month strike and return to the classrooms but Femi Falana, ASUU counsel has subsequently filed an appeal over the court ruling.
FG however on Monday has instructed all vice-chancellors; pro-chancellors and chairmen of governing councils of federal universities to re-open schools.
“Ensure that ASUU members immediately resume/commence lectures; Restore the daily activities and routines of the various University campuses,” the letter partly reads.
