Godfred Dame is Best Minister for 2022

The Minister for Justice and Attorney General (A-G), Godfred Yeboah Dame, has received an award from FAKS Investigative Service as Best Minister for the Year 2022.

Mr. Dame received this honour in Accra at his office on Wednesday, February 14, 2023.

He was shortlisted among three Most Outstanding Ministers – Dr. Yaw Adutwum, Minister for Education, and Dr. Awal Mohammed, Minister for Tourism – for the year 2022.

The Team Leader of FAKS Investigative Service, Fredrick Yaw Sarpong, awarded the A-G and the Minister for Justice with a plaque.

Mr. Sarpong explained that the honour was as a result of a survey conducted by his organisation on the performance of ministers, deputy ministers, members of Parliament (MP), and chief executive officers (CEOs) of state institutions and agencies.

According to him, the participants of the survey chose Mr. Dame based on certain attributes, including the donation of 91 vehicles to some agencies under his ministry, setting up of the Legal Aid Commission and the Law Enforcement Commission last year.

The team leader of FAKS added that the award was to motivate the Minister to keep up with the good work.

Responding to the honour, Mr. Dame said he couldn’t have achieved this feat without the support and commitment of his hardworking and selfless staff. He, however, expressed surprises for his selection from the lot, as one of the best ministers in the country.

According to him, he holds his office with the greatest respect, since the Attorney General “stands in the gap when it comes to the attainment of accountability, promotion of good governance and the creation of a sound atmosphere for the conduct of business in the country.”

And also that he is “mindful of the very important role that this ministry plays and I am always prepared as I said, to use the best of my abilities to promote the attainment of the object of good governance that the President has set for himself.”
