A Ghanaian coach showed how far some fans will go to get a picture with their heroes on Monday, snapping a selfie with Son Heung-min just moments after South Korea had lost a crucial World Cup match 3-2.
The man whipped his phone out while his colleagues consoled Son, snapped a selfie of the pair and then walked off.
It came after Ghana beat South Korea in another breathless game at the World Cup, with the African side blowing a 2-0 lead and then nudging back in front in the second half.
South Korea applied immense pressure as they looked for a way back into the game, but there was no way through as Ghana held out for a crucial three points.
Things went from bad to worse for Son’s team after the final whistle, as manager Paulo Bento was sent off for fuming at referee Anthony Taylor for refusing to let South Korea take a corner at the end of stoppage time.
South Korea’s assistant coach Sergio Costa felt his side had been robbed after the game, as he told the BBC: ‘Not even a tie would have been fair. We clearly deserved to win. I think we can be very proud of what we did and can count on us in the next match.’
