The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, is among the high-profile dignitaries that will be attending second edition of the Africa Cinema Summit slated for 7th to 10th October 2024 at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.
On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the National Film Authority (NFA), the organisers of summit, paid a courtesy call on the King to officially invite him to the event.
Accepting the invitation, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, a lover of the arts and former player in the creative industry, acknowledged the role of film in culture preservation and the need to encourage the production of films that tell the Ghanaian story.
He, therefore, pledged his support to the cause being championed by the National Film Authority.
The Africa Cinema Summit is a three-day event that brings stakeholders from the cinema industry value chain across the world to Africa.
The summit is unique as it is the first of its class to be held in Africa and it focuses on the peculiarities in the African cinema space as well as the challenges and the numerous opportunities the industry offers.
The first edition of the summit which took place last year, drew various film makers from 20 African countries to Ghana for varied conversations on growing cinema on the continent.
