Residents of Barniekrom, a farming community in the Ahafo Ano South-West District of the Ashanti region had the shock of their lives when a gun battle that ensued between a fetish priest and a group of armed men, left three people dead.
The incident occurred on Tuesday July 2, 2024 around 4:00 pm, when a group of armed men on motorbikes attacked the fetish priest, Osman Majeed, popularly known in the village as Bossman.
Sources at the village told this reporter that Bossman -a forest guard – overpowered his alleged attackers, killing three on the spot.
Speaking to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South-West, Joseph Bonsu Frimpong, he confirmed to The Chronicle that three persons had been killed.
Bonsu Frimpong could, however, not give details, except to say that those who have lost their lives came from Jacobu.
The DCE said investigation was ongoing and that there has not been any arrest.In statement issued by the police, the security agency disclosed that they had commenced investigation into the shooting of three people by suspect Osman Majeed, who is currently on the run.
