Feature: Memoires and Lamentations of Kwabena Amikaketo (49)

Love For Nkrumah by The Great Hypocrites (2)

Kwabena Amikaketo sat in his favourite chair on his balcony, viewing the setting sun which was making way for the shadows to grow longer and soon cover his part of the world like some dark blanket.

The chilly weather is now gradually abating, making way for the warm spells before the heat arrived.

Today, like yesterday, Kwabena was very indignant about what he had now accepted as evil plots by socialists in Ghana to re-write history and achieve their long-cherished dream that Kwame Nkrumah was the only one who decided that our country must gain independence and he single handily made sure of that

This nonsense must stop, because Kwame Nkrumah himself once said that there were people before him in the struggle for independence.

Before, he continued from where he left off last night, Kwabena decided to deal with some serious nonsense and gross stupidity coming out from the socialist’ camp and that was the matter concerning founder(s) and the Big Six.

What at all was KKD lamenting about on television the other day? And has he got the moral nerves to come out in public after that sex scandal he was accused of and never really proved his innocence?

As for KKD, someone who now holds himself as a traditional leader, if what Kwabena heard was true that he sexually abused a lady, to now come out and talk and propagate lies he heard from Kwesi Pratt Jr, should be a big shame to him. He should not exhibit his ignorance if he wants to maintain the decency and respect that is left in him.

Socialists in Ghana are becoming so pathological liars who have upped their game of propagating the untruth to make it sound like the truth.

One such character, who has no standing even in his own political party, but has always been going the NDC way, claiming to represent his PNC, while all of his party will go the NPP way, is Bernard Mornah.

History of our struggle for independence recorded the arrest and detention of six Ghanaians who were members of the UGCC. Bernard Mornah is saying nothing like that ever happened and that there was nothing like six persons arrested who later became known as the Big Six.

Kwabena understood Bernard’s infantile way of thinking. It was all about the issue of whether there are founders or there is only one founder of the nation.

And because those six gentlemen and politicians, of the UGCC, namely by rank in the party, J.B. Danquah (vice-chairman), Kwame Nkrumah (general secretary), Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, Edward Akufo-Addo and William Ofori-Atta, stood out unchallenged to be called founders, Bernard decided to lie big time to erode off the rest and leave Nkrumah alone, standing.

The colonial government, led by Governor Sir Gerald Creasy had blamed the UGCC for the disturbances leading to and the riots after the killing of Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe and Private Odartey Lamptey.

He issued a removal order for the arrest of the leadership of the UGCC after his intelligence informed him that these six gentlemen were those involved in the acts to destabilize the government.

According to Bernard Mornah, Edward Akufo-Addo was not even a member of the UGCC, but had calculatedly invited himself to tea and was there drinking tea, at the tea party, with the UGCC members when the police swoop came and arrested them.

Kwabena wondered the level of education that Bernard had, since such talks are only associated with semi-illiterates. For the sake of narrowing down the founders of this country, oneshould be said to be a gate crasher at tea parties.

Kwabena was so angry and suddenly realised that unlike him, very harsh words were pouring out from his thoughts. If the educated and those who know the truth or can easily find out the truth, are now re-writing history and spewing lies, the impact on the vulnerable would be very sad and pathetic, because irresponsible people only want to re-write history and insist that Ghana has only one founder.

The founders of Ghana are all those who led in the independence struggle from John Mensah Sarbah’s ARPS, with the Asantes as catalysts, through to the UGCC and finally to Nkrumah who led us into independence. After all, one person cannot bring a child into this world.

Kwabena suddenly realised that he was allowing himself to be distracted. The issue tonight was to establish that those Nkrumaists, who are all about the place making noise about Nkrumah and how much they love him, are in fact great hypocrites who inwardly hate the gentleman to the core.

They helped undermined the Limann regime which was the socialist government directly in line from Nkrumah’s CPP. When vote was to be cast in Parliament on Limann’s budget, with his PNP having 71 seats out of the 140 seat House, only 51 showed up and the budget was rejected by 54-51 votes. And in that era, MPs cannot be giving any government appointment, so what kept the rest? Kwabena continued from where he left off, last night.

5). When the ban on partisan politics was lifted again, one would have thought that all the Nkrumaists would have come together and form another formidable party. But that was not to be.

Gallery of socialist parties emerged, with as many as nine different political parties coming up, all in the name of Nkrumah. And shockingly, the National Convention Party, which is the core of today’s CPP and the EGLE party formed an alliance with NDC and the three collectively put-up Rawlings as their flag bearer, the man who openly did not honour Nkrumah and rejected him.

6). In 1993, the People’s Heritage Party merged with the National Independence Party to form the People’s Convention Party which in 1996 merged with the National Convention Party to reform the CPP.

Currently, among the six Nkrumaist parties, there is the CPP and PNC who could be said to be the strongest.

And upon all their noises, collectively, the Nkrumaist parties never made any impact during General Elections. Apart from 1992 and 1996 where they secured 11.32% and 10.30% respectively in the presidential elections, it had been downhill with the 2020 elections results, when they secured0.02%.

In the parliamentary elections, their best was nine seats in 1992 which declined to 2 seats in 2012 and since 2016, the Nkrumaists have no seat in Parliament.Their bulk of support and resources are in the NDC, founded by someone who never believed in Nkrumah.

7). Instead of concentrating on membership drive, the Nkrumaists decided to drive out very important gems like Paa Kwesi Nduom and Samia Nkrumah from their midst. Samia’s case truly demonstrated that Nkrumah was not wanted or loved within the Nkrumaist parties, especiallyin the CPP.

For how can you claim to love the father and cherish him so much that even his name is something sacred and yet you deny his only daughter from leading the party by being a flag bearerand finally drove her away? If anyone is to truly inherit Nkrumah, it should be Samia.

By the way, Kwabena hoped the members of the CPP would realise their party is now dead. Thinking that the name CPP would bring back victories, they resurrected it and were on board in 2000, where they secured only 1.78% of the presidential votes.

Their greatest performance was in 2004 when they secured 4% of presidential votes. Today, they could only secure 0.09% of presidential votes.

Could it be that, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah realising that his party is made up of non-loyal hypocrites and sycophants, placed a curse on them so that they would never perform well in elections?

Most ironically, that these people who hold Nkrumah as the next after God; these people who dared to equate Nkrumah to God when they deceived young minds of the Young Pioneer by making them believe that the sweets that rained on them while they were made to sit under trees, was solely from Nkrumah and that God could not give them sweets and these people who would swear that they will die for Nkrumah have suddenly turned a full semi-circle to support Rawlings, the very man who openly declared that he never believed in Nkrumah.

Kwabena Amikaketo heard steps coming up and with it was the voice of his darling daughter, Echele talking to one of her siblings about something. Kwabena rose and walked to the door as it opened to reveal the sweet smiling face of the lass. They exchanged smiles and he allowed himself to be ushered to his room.

If only the truth would be out, these Nkrumaists will never cease to deceive Ghanaians and bring about conflict into the country.
