Feature: Captain Smart, You Are Not Smart After All

It is very amazing the lengths at which socialists in this country will go, to blatantly lie to Ghanaians about Kwame Nkrumah, who incidentally deep in their hearts, they do not love or cherish.

From the Kulungugu bombing, which was an attack on Nkrumah’s life by three top CPP gurus, two cabinet ministers and a national executive officer of the party, to the Accra bombings, undertaking by some CPP members, through to the deep reverence, love and support they gave to Rawlings who disregarded Nkrumah, by making public statements that Kotoka was the hero who liberated Ghana from Nkrumah’s hardships and his undesired rule and belittling our first president by saying Nkrumah did nothing for Ghana, apart from giving us the national anthem and flag.

Going further, the rightful heir to Nkrumah in the party, Samia Nkrumah, was thrown out of the CPP. Does this show love and reverence to the old man?

The Nkrumaists have declared Kotoka a traitor and nation wrecker and yet for thirty-six years, with twenty-eight uninterrupted ones, which the Nkrumaists or socialists ruled this country after Nkrumah, none of the various governments had the courage to change the name of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), which was named as a befitting monument to immortalize General E.K. Kotoka. And yet within the sixteen years, that those who profess the faith of the UP Tradition, ruled this country, there was at least one occasion when the Nkrumaists asked government to change the name of the airport. They would not want to do that, but want somebody else to do it.

Lately, the Nkrumaists have been very loud about Nkrumah being the founder of this nation, and they go through great lengths, seriously deceiving and confusing themselves about this.

In addition, we are told by the Nkrumaists that J.B. Danquah was only a region chairman of the UGCC, something which they are now bragging about. And, that he never gave the name Ghana to this nation, but Nkrumah did, when in July 1948, he founded a secondary school and called it Ghana National College.

When Ghanaians were trying to take that cool deserved rest from such irresponsible noises, one Ghanaian media practitioner, forty-six-year-old Blessed Godsbrain Smart also known as Captain Smart came out to launch another missile in the Nkrumaists attack on truth and on the UP Tradition.

It turned out that Captain Smart was actually not smart, after all. He obviously coached an old man, a previously unknown Kobina Taylor, to come and lie big time about the origination of the name Ghana and other matters. And surely, one could hear the Nkrumaists loudly praising that old man who they described as a fountain of wisdom. If this is what these socialists take as opening our minds to the truth, then I feel sad and sorry for them.

In the first place, here we have someone who describes himself and is described by Captain Smart as Kwame Nkrumah’s personal messenger. What is that? What is the role of a personal messenger? All that he spoke about puts him in the category of a personal advisor to Nkrumah and not a messenger.

If he has this metric tonne of information, why did he not come out years ago, before Captain Smart was even born, to pass it on to us? Why wait this long when most of those close to Nkrumah who can testify to what he saying, are all gone?

Who among the close ranks of Nkrumah can identify who Kobina Taylor was, if indeed he worked for Nkrumah?

Certified history books by authorities in that field, tell us how Ghana got its name. And for the records, J.B. Danquah and his Youth Conference were approach to find a name for the new country when it got its independence. He first came out with Akan land and then Akan Ga, both of which were rejected. He then came out with Ghana Land, to immortalize the Ghana Empire; this was accepted but the word, Land was dropped. This is what history tells us and this has been verified and certified as the truth.

According to Captain Smart, who spoke through Kobina Taylor, Ghana got its name when Kwame Nkrumah sat down and joined the initials of some ethnic groups in this country. So, Nkrumah has it this way, “Guans, Hausa, Akan, Nzema/Northern region, Accra/Alata.” Very ridiculous!

Seriously, Nkrumah with all his faults would never have done such an irresponsible thing. The fact is the Hausas are not indigenes of Ghana, neither are the Alatas, so this rules them out of the equation, completely. And the fact that Accra and Northern region are not ethnic groups but places in Ghana also rubbishes this nonsense.

Sincerely speaking, Accra cannot represent the Ga people, because Accra was just a community in present day Greater Accra just as Kaneshie, Bubuashie, Adabraka, Osu, La, Teshie, Nungua and Tema.

Today we have a Ga Mantse who has jurisdiction over a section of the Ga people. Jamestown, Osu, La, Teshie, Nungua and Tema are Ga states that do not fall under the Ga Mantse. So, in what capacity can Accra represent all the Gas.

And what is Hausa doing here when we mention indigenous people of Ghana? Hausa is widely spoken in Ghana especially in the North, but the Hausas are not Ghanaians. They are Nigerians. Captain Smart should have added English in the equation, since this language is spoken more in Ghana than Hausa is.

And why is Ewe missing in this equation? Another important ethnic group. Captain Smart, cannot be that smart, after all.

K.A. Gbedemah parted ways with Nkrumah, because of what he called the financial indiscipline of Nkrumah, so Captain Smart and his old man, Kobina Taylor must nail this gentleman at any cost, possible.

K.A. Gbedemah was Nkrumah’s minister of finance from 1954 to 1961. He had held that portfolio with such decency and Ghana was managed very well, until Nkrumah decided to turn the country into a communist one and nationalize almost all sectors. Unnecessary and reckless spendings brought Ghana crashing down and when Gbedemah objected to some of Nkrumah’s policies, he was removed from the finance ministry to health. Gbedemah would not stop voicing out his opinions and had to flee this country, when Nkrumah wanted his head.

So, can Captain Smart tell us on what occasion did Gbedemah take possession of £23 million meant for rehabilitating war veterans and fled with it to the UK?

Did, Gbedemah carry that huge sum of money on him on the flight or did he pay it into his personal account? If he carried it on him, why was he not stopped by the immigration officers in the UK airport or sea port when he arrived, there? And if he paid it into his account, why did the governor of the Central bank in Ghana allow that to go through, without first consulting Nkrumah?

£23 million apart from the fact that it was just too much for that project, which will indicate that this story is a lie, one thing we ought to know is that it is not the Queen of England who will sanction such an amount to be gifted to Ghana.

Apart from the fact that this money, which in present day value at an average inflation rate of 5% per annum from 1961, will be worth over £450 million today. If indeed K.A. Gbedemah stole such amount, Kwame Nkrumah would have gone after him.

Gbedemah went and domiciled in Togo, just across the border. And on top of this Gbedemah wrote an open letter to Nkrumah which explained why he parted ways with him. He exposed the dangers of One-Party State and the Seven Year Development Plan, so if indeed he was a common thief, why did Nkrumah not respond accordingly, but kept sending emissaries to Gbedemah to beg him to return to Ghana and into his government?

K.A. Gbedemah is long gone, but has relatives, especially his wife still around, who can drag Captain Smart, Kobina Taylor and the media house to court for defamation and sue for damages. The socialists must watch how they talk recklessly.

In my opinion, Kobina Taylor was a nobody in Nkrumah’s government, not a messenger, nor a cleaner, nor a gardener, nor a driver. He never got close to Nkrumah and he is not known in his circles. After those close to Nkrumah are all almost dead and gone, Captain Smart brings out this old man and coached him how to lie about Nkrumah and this country.

I am sorry, from what I heard from Kobina Taylor, it is in my opinion that he is not genuine, but fake. He is an actor who was given this role to play. Someone not known in any of the Nkrumaist political parties, because with how he portrayed himself, he should be a member of the council of elders and an advisor in the CPP or any of the others.

This old man has destroyed his image and reputation which will haunt his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and descendants unborn. He is a con man, who wants to draw sympathy from Ghanaians and get handsomely rewarded then pay Captain Smart his broker’s fee in this investment.

From the way the Nkrumaists are going, Ghanaians should not be surprise if one day, someone is pulled out by Kwesi Pratt Jnr or Captain Smart to come and tell us the Nkrumah was after all, not a member of the UGCC, but actually he formed the CPP while he was abroad and came home to lead it.

Captain Smart, just bow your head down in shame, because guess what, you are not that smart after all.
